To be honest, this process has no end. You could start by making a game from scratch in C++, creating your own engine, dealing with mathematics, and implementing algorithms for file handling—it all depends on your goals.
You could also use an existing engine and focus solely on creating assets.
In both cases, the process is extremely long, and the result you achieve might feel underwhelming.
That’s because it takes years to hone skills in programming, modeling, and texturing.
I think it comes down to this: if you’re an engineer at heart and your goal is to master technical skills, then this is the right path for you.
But if you’re more of an artist at heart, and your goal is to share a beautiful idea with people so they can appreciate it as a work of art, then you should choose a different path.
In that case, it’s more like making a movie, where you act as a director who brings everything together. We’ve seen films that earned a 9+ rating on IMDb, even though the assets in those films were fairly basic.
If you want to chat about these topics, feel free to email me.
The entire game is made using assets purchased from the Unity Store -visual effects, post processors effects, models and textures and game character controller ,sounds , along with some assets that I downloaded for free as they were offered by their authors at no cost. All authors are credited accordingly in credit file, To be honest, it doesn’t make the job much easier because you still need to understand how all these assets work and make them function together. It’s a real headache, and on top of that, you have to build scripts to connect all the game’s systems. It’s a very time-consuming process, especially when creating complex mechanics, like getting out of a car or implementing something like fishing, if that’s part of the game.
Thanks for the feedback! I totally get what you mean about the text—it would be great to have an option to make it stay longer or add a "Next" button. I’m glad you had a laugh with the aliens! They might be a bit too slow in their reactions, so I’ll consider adding more seriousness and darkness in future series . Appreciate the rating and your thoughts!
Thank you for the detailed and honest description of the game and the issues. Comments like this really help me as a developer to bring the game to the right level. All the errors that were mentioned will, of course, be fixed in the near future. Some of them I already know about, while others are new. Regarding the narrative, as I noticed from the gameplay videos, people don't always notice all the hidden features in the game that help to reveal the story better. I need to work on that as well, so there’s plenty to do.
Which level are you referring to? That issue was present in level 2 in the past, but now you can't even pick up the trash. If it's happening in level 3, that's very strange because there's a video above showing it progressing without getting stuck. Please, if you can, describe the exact moment where it gets stuck—it would be very helpful for us to work on a fix.
You are absolutely right. I will make note of that, and in future versions of the game, I will add a few more details to enhance the narrative and bring more depth to the entire series ,I know it might feel like, 'Well, damn, we've already played it,' and now it’s different when you play it again. But there’s nothing to be done—that’s just how it’s going to be.
We've uploaded the latest version v1.15, which is more stable and contains the fewest bugs so far. Please try downloading it again. Some videos in the comments from the past day clearly show that the issue of getting stuck while throwing trash has been resolved (FoShoShot -video from 1.14v). Thank you for your attention! Please let me know if the problem is resolved or not.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! We've identified and fixed (in 1.12v) the bug causing the character to freeze when picking up trash. Please update the game to the latest version, and everything should work smoothly now. We truly appreciate your patience and feedback—it helps us improve the game for everyone. Let us know if you encounter any other issues!
