does any one know how to make basic adjustments via "Preference() action"? I've read through this Renpy list of options, but I cannot determine how to trigger this...or is this intended for devs only..?
I'd like to do this on both Windows and Mac games.
On another topic, someone once shared a link to a Caribdis page which showed what % of the game is complete, and related updates. Can someone share that with me.
i think i stumbled upon the issue after i downloaded for pc and had the same issue. i believe it has to do with self-voicing. when it's on it always crashes at the same spot -that is, when the main characters receives a phone call from darci while he's roaming the power plant, he looks at his phone and the phone flashes twice - that's when the crash occurs. i think it's right before the light appears in the corner or the room.
thanks, but i'm on mac. ideally i'd like to backup my saves and wipe any other hidden folders but the issue isn't deleting the saves, it's i'm unable to get past a certain section of the game due to a reoccurring error.
I'm assuming when I delete ripples it's not uninstalling everything - thus a re-install is still pulling from those [possibly corrupted] folders.or maybe the mac version is just broken.
i left off on v16 a few months ago and im confused af. i've been going back and loading old saves to remeber where I left off in the story and everytime i go back there's new content.
some of it must just be new content you added for the early game but other content im not sure if it's mixing updates.
For example, i went back to day 70 and taking the andriod downtown on the train is "new" for the early game.
but before that the famous blonde girl visits, and afterwards i get the dev message saying i've reached the end of the story for ellen.
i can't tell if it's actually the end of ellen or what. did i progress the story too far for some characters in v16 while others are behind?
maybe blue balls was the wrong expression for an adult game lol. the sex scenes are cool and all, but i'm referring more to the story.
Admittedly, when i download the game, I did for some reason think the game was completed, but i realized quickly it wasn't.
I really loved the free roam / side quest aspect of exploring the city. I was thinking, holy shit this is a great intro to the game, look at all these different places that i'm going to be exploring as i progress. But after 10 minutes that content was done and there was no reason to ever go back. Maybe most of that has been added recently?
But maybe it's the way i play these games, mixed with the non-linear story telling. i like to make sure i'm not missing anything with a character before moving onto another/next thread in the story.
which isn't always good, as i misjudged it a few times - at one point, i guess i was expected to have bought the blonde slave, but hadn't, and suddenly she was in the living room during a cutscene.
but with all the girls and leaving the progression in the hands of the player, it's understandable. I imagine there's a lot that goes into planning for this, and i applaud you for that.
I appreciate your attention to detail and refraining from adding irrelevant info. Maybe then the intended takeaways from many of the events were not memorable. Especially in the beginning/middle when the story is primarily character development and you're jumping from one storyline to another. If nothing significant is happening, it kind of just all melds together and ends up feeling like filler content...just my hypothesis.
Like when maria is taken or you travel to the island to meet the queen, or the other elf queen's wedding.. those are exciting progressions in the story, It just didn't feel like there wasn't nearly enough of that given the amount of overall content.
Again, maybe it's the way i play but it just felt very back loaded while the beginning/middle was a lot of fluff.
Okay that's more than enough, but i wanted to explain more what i meant.
And to be clear, i enjoyed the game. It's not meant to be an attack, only my two cents of criticism.
never came across that one or recall it being suggested. i'll take a look. don't let me down.
i actually lean more towards the ones with free roam events or side stories / alternative paths (idk if you'd still classify those as a visual novel). besides alternative paths ( (which i didn't notice much difference from the few times i experimented with choosing other options) , eternum doesn't exactly fit this, but i guess it's the story that really peaks my interest.
I recently played deviant anomalies, and really enjoyed the "detective" aspect of the game. the writing wasn't great, or maybe the world was a bit too absurd for me, but there was still an interesting story being told.
i played DIK which i thought was good; packed with free roaming events and other cool features, but the story wasn't really there.
i'd also like to play a full game from start to end. so many are either in development or have been abandoned. There's nothing worse than devoting 40+ hours for really nothing to happen........*cough harem hotel cough* that story took so long to go anywhere and once it started to, the update is over.
eternum happened to be my first ever "visual novel" type game...i had no idea how spoiled i was.
i stumbled upon this game shortly after the 0.5 release....though at the time i had no idea what that meant. i've never started playing a game that was still in development; in fact, if i knew it was incomplete, i would have never given it a chance to begin with.
yet, here i am, again, months later, eagerly checking back and hoping to see "0.6."
what have i become..?
I've searched far and wide for something..anything that can match the experience of eternum. I've descended to the darkest, most deplorable corners of reddit, downloaded games from questionable sources, and devoted hours and hours playing various other games...alas, nothing seems to scratch that itch.
