This game is the one best of the genre I have played, right on the level of Fenoxo. Sure, it is not as polished but there are signs of greatness emanating from the lovable characters, story, and world lore.
I like most of the characters. The ones I do not like are only out of personal preference and not out of bad writing because they are all written well. The only unpleasantry I had was with the Town's "Not-witch" Elly. I did not want to do dirty stuff with her in-game since I saw her in a similar light as Lillian.
The story is nothing mind-blowing so far but it does not have to be. I usually hate stuff with cliche stories like this one which has a standard plot of subduing a demon queen, yet everything surrounding the story such as the characters and lore built around it serve to make it distinct and special.
The lore is quite nice to say the least. Not much room for speculation, but it makes for an entertaining read in an already reading-intensive game. The explanations for world events are deep and sufficient enough to create an immersive world. 8/10 as the unfinished masterpiece it is. Hail the Demon Queen Perpetua.
Label is certainly a challenging boss that also functions as a stat check. Have to note that if her snakes light up, she is trying to counter any attacks you make with an attack that pretty much one-shots. Knowing this, a dude can eat an item, meditate, or buff up (Power up! for the win). I recommend having defensive buff spells (yes, they need intelligence but even the weakest form is good) up whenever you can with her while you chip away at her HP.
They do get a huge boost in levels every time you defeat them. Beris, you will want the Demon Layer weapon. I usually use Overpower (Power buff), Detect weakness (Crit chance buff), and overlimit (massive 1-turn dmg increase) before smacking her with a strong attack. Ushris (Thick-thighed witch) can be gotten rid of only one time by holy headpats. Second time onwards, seduction attacks get through her barrier. If you seek levels, fight mimics. Mimics are easy prey for seduction-based attacks and drop lots of exp and eros (money).
After a difficult start, I have gone down the path to mowing down enemies. A great feeling it is to have made so much progress. This game does not demand your commitment but rather coaxes it out of you. As such, you feel more liable for pressing on its difficulty rather than giving up on it. The creator is a passionate dude who fixes problems super quick if he is aware of them. The game in my opinion sits at a solid 9/10 that can easily become more with some polish.
I should have said that I already found the hidden weapon alongside the hidden gear item yet it seems to do less damage than the pistol at about, hitting for around 320 dmg compared to the pistol's 348 despite the stats saying otherwise. I even whacked a Marine bot with a regular attack from it and it did 0 damage somehow.
Why is Marine boss battle extra powerful in the first level after I beat one of the Apostles? Was I not supposed to kill that apostle yet? I literally cannot beat the fight because Marine summons 3 extra pirates meaning there are six over 2000 HP absolutely beefy Houshou pirates that each do around 350 damage while Marine fires a 500-600 damage cannon. Meanwhile, Gura has around 1470 HP and Watson has 1857 HP.
