this was a nice experience!! really cute, definitely a chill way to kill some time :) that last level was tricky but it didn't make it less fun!

hey, thanks for the reply! i appreciate the assistance, and the links are very helpful :) i'm using 2.63.1, and i don't actually have an error message, the notification just isn't reflecting any css changes. i understand that this probably has something to do with my code though, so i'll be sure to re-add the macro in case i messed it up, and i'll try the updated version if i still can't get it to work. worst case scenario i need to brush up on css, lol. thanks again!

wrote this in a review but i'm realizing a comment might be better for this –

i've ended up deviating from the provided narrative structure quite a bit, but the game gave me an excellent foundation to build on and now it's become more of a full-fledged written story than a game playthrough. my human is teaming up with a fellow abductee, a symbiote-type alien they've reluctantly agreed to share their body with in order to escape and return to their respective homes!

if you don't mind me sharing, here's a little doodle of my aliens that i did on my phone: https://imgur.com/a/j23Lt7i they're a race of psychic jellyfish-like beings who live in a technologically advanced underwater society, and they abduct other species to basically keep them as like, designer pets - they get pretty bored now that they've solved large-scale societal problems like hunger and housing, and also achieved semi-immortality, so they capture exotic alien species for entertainment and companionship. plus they glow all sorts of different colors like a mood ring >:3

thank you for the inspiration!! your game is awesome. ^-^ <3

i haven't played yet, only skimmed through the pdf so far, but sirens has a really cool vibe going on! i immediately noticed a lot of things in the text that could serve as excellent worldbuilding hooks, giving the player plenty of opportunities to build up the details of the story even further than the already really intriguing lore that's presented to them. plus it incorporates ideas of otherness/alienation and reclaimation and such in a way that definitely  resonates with me, which is always nice.

(this is copied from my rating, 'cause i don't know if other people can see those :p)

hi! these are great and very useful. makes my cyoa game look all nice and fancy :)

a small note: i tried adding in the notify macro to the one-page template, and can't get the custom css classes to work for it. i don't think that has anything to do with this template, it's probably something about the css that i'm misunderstanding, but i'm just mentioning it since it's included in other templates here and i was confused when it didn't seem to be compatible.

i don't fully understand css though, and i understand javascript even less, so it's not surprising. :p i'm just mentioning it in case it's relevant to someone else, or somebody knows what the problem is.

originally said this in the rating, but i realized a comment might make more sense: this software is awesome, but for me the animated backgrounds seem to periodically glitch/flicker strangely. it's a little distracting, so most of the time i turn the animation off. i might be able to record it happening if that's something that would help?
