I seem to have encountered a bug in that I was supposed to lose my lamp while fording a river, but I didn't lose it. I did download the game a few months ago, and only played it recently though.

Fun game. Third boss was tricky, finally managed to beat him with an even mix of Blasts, Repairs and Riots.

Fun little game.

At some point I couldn't use most items in my pockets, and also couldn't buy stuff from gas stations anymore, for some weird presumably buggy reason, but it was fine since if I put some cds on and gave my passenger some sleepy time with his eyecovers I could maintain a positive salary for the entire journey with no muss or fuss.

The 80+ floor grind is soulcrushingly brutal. Am I missing some sort of thing that makes this easier, except for the floors where you can bypass the dice rolling? Or is it really just repeating and repeating until the RNG gods favour you with a ten-streak of 90+ rolls?

I'm not really proud of myself here, but I kept messing around with stuff until I realized that if you pause in the exact correct frame just as you get your roll result but before the result changes the level, you can decide whether to reset cartridge or not, based on whether the roll is good enough to get you to the next floor or not, allowing you to just reroll instead of being forced down a floor.

The trick doesn't seem to work with the single digit rolls (1-9) and it's up to you whether you want to take the risk on whether that 1/10 is actually a 100 roll result or not.

Managed to get to floor 100 with the giant blue brain. I assume that's the end?

Going to the pause menu [p] and choosing Reset Cart(ridge) seems to fix the stair glitch. I've had it several times without even getting to 91. XD

Also progress seems to get autosaved, so even if you've left the webpage/closed the downloaded game, you should theoretically still be able to continue from your 91 run, you crazy lucky person. Incidentally that also seems to fix the stair glitch, but it's less convenient than just doing Reset Cartridge.

Getting stuck due to a bug :(

Thanks for the detailed response. I'm glad to report the game seems to be working again, so no idea what went wrong there. *shrug* My best guess is some sort of browser hiccup.

People who actually go for all the coins must be mad though. Mad!

I got stuck on the beginning long slide in the level just after unlocking dash? But then I realized you have to keep down held in to maintain the momentum. Whoopsie.

And then I got stuck on the level after the tutorial on how to press down to go through the thin ledges? In the level after the ledge tutorial, you have to go through a down ledge, but I sort of ran past the tutorial message in the last level and just pressing "down" wasn't working.

After an embarrassingly long time, and some generous buttonsmashing, I realized you have to press down and jump at the same time to go through a ledge, but having a tutorial message at the first ledge you have to go through to progress in addition to the one you can easily run past is maybe a good idea, especially with no level select.

Other than that, a neat little game! I like the dwarf fortress references, which is basically just the name, dwarf and digging too deep, but I still like it. :P

One thing I will note is at no point did it seem needed for me to discard coins, but I did sometimes need to bypass picking up coins because of the wall moving in. So maybe if I had discarded coins, the wall would have been slow enough for me to pick up coins? Seems kind of silly, so I just keep the ones I have.

p.s. You "hoard" coins, not "horde" ;)

p.p.s Sometimes my double jump doesn't seem to register. Somewhat annoying to fall into lava when I clearly did press the double jump.

p.p.s Sometimes white vertical lines will flash on the screen? No idea why? Might be a browser play issue maybe? Playing in chrome.

p.p.p.s A fun little game!

p.p.p.p.s If I restart the page after completing the game, I can't play again? Not sure if I broke something by not restarting from the game end screen and deciding to refresh for some reason. (My mind works in mysterious ways.) Will just download if I really feel like playing again I guess.

Ah, okay thanks. I corrupted everyone, except him, then he spotted me, and did that thing where he runs towards other people and tells them to chase me. Except they were corrupted and didn't chase me. Then he seemed to fritz out and wasn't hostile anymore. IIRC I also couldn't bribe him at that point.

Regarding the maybe last level? With the giant white haired guy with a hammer. I managed to corrupt/bug to the point where new corruptions options weren't popping up everyone into not attacking me, but couldn't find a way to escape the level?

Frequently crashes for seemingly no reason. I was just about ready to try and head to the oasis when it crashed again. :(

Repair kits work only sporadically, like maybe once in four attempts to use them to repair a sword or something, which is very irritating.

It's not a wall, it's a tower! There's another 2 souls in the graveyard, talk to the people in the house left of the Fish Statue for clues. You need to jump on one of the pole things to get all the way to the left to the Lumberjack's house, and access the cave and tower from there. Lumberjack also has clues about another ghost.

11 Souls:
1st Soul, MacSagart: Inside the church
Go into the church, the first building to the left from the game start, talk to the priest inside. He will give you some candles. Down and x to light a candle. Light a candle to the right of the priest on the pedestal to open up first ghost area.

In the catacombs below, there are four bunches of tulips. Light candles under each bunch, counting up. So first candle under the single tulip, second under the 2 tulips etc. Ghost appears. Chase it around to bring down its hp.

Priest will now unlock the graveyard for you, the fenced area just left of the church.

2nd Soul: Crypt (Graveyard)

Inside the graveyard, go left. Enter the little building/crypt. It is dark. Use your candles to light the way. There are 5 spots where you can put candles, marked with arrows and circles. Crouch down and x over a candle you've put down to pick it up again. Once you've put down the 5 candles, catch the ghost.

3rd Soul, MacMurlach: Graveyard

At the very left of the graveyard is a cat. It runs away if you light a candle next to it. Chase it to the right until it runs past MacMurlach's grave, then catch the ghost.

4th Soul: Graveyard

The third grave from the right on the first graveyard screen doesn't have a name, just instructions. Follow them, lighting a candle to the left of the grave, to the right of the grave, then jump on top of the grave. You should fall down into a little underground area. There is another grave, saying "All onto me" and some bugs running around.

The bugs turn around when they get to a candle. By placing candles on both sides of the grave, progressively closer, you can get all the bugs to be on top of the grave at the same time, releasing the ghost to catch.

5th Soul, MacJohnson Grandfather: Graveyard (right)

At the lamp outside the house of the gravekeeper, a moth is flying around. It will fly to nearby candles. By placing and picking up candles, you can lure it to the MacJohnson grave, releasing a ghost to catch. Don't put the candles too far apart, or it flies back to the houselamp.

6th Soul, MacDoid: House with no Door

The house actually does have a door, it's just hidden, slightly on the left side. Inside, the house is dark. If you light a candle and move, a giant hand catches you. However, it doesn't if you don't move. Use this to your advantage to place candles to see the platforms, then pick them up and jump. Go to the top and light a candle on the pedestal. Then catch the ghost.

7th Soul, Traveling Fish: Fish Statue

Place three candles at the fish statue then kneel down. It will rise up to reveal a chamber. Place candles in the chamber according to the moon plaque story. Mountain -> Snowflake -> Cactus -> Tree -> Moon. Catch Ghost.

8th Soul, MacJohnson Grandmother: MacJohnson House

In the House with the man, woman, girl, baby and portrait, left of the Fish Statue, is the ghost of their grandmother, who wants to see everyone's faces. So put a candle next to each of the man, woman, girl, baby and portrait to show their faces in the dark and catch the ghost.

9th Soul: Barn

Notice the patterns in the windows inside the barn? You need to make sure all the patterns exist by putting candles on the platforms.

First pattern:

* _              * *

* *     OR    _ *

* *              * _

Second Pattern:

_ * _ *

* _ * _

_ * _ _

Catch Ghost

10th Soul: Tower

Protip, you can jump on the top background pillars in the hilly area. You need to jump on a short one to get all the way to the left. Go left to the Lumberjack's house, jump on his lumber pile then on his roof, then jump right on the pillars to get to the top of the tower where you can enter.

You need to use candles to get rid of all the fog inside the tower, then catch the ghost.

11th Soul, Wanderer: Cave

Go left after jumping on the Lumberjack's roof, and enter the cave. Inside the cave, wait and do not light any candles. A monster should come closer to you. Light a candle when it is right next to you then catch the ghost.

Banshee:
Go all the to the right where you began and light the soul Lantern. Catch the Banshee! (It's pretty simple)
