It's not a bug, it's an unimplemented feature.

"This fixed itself after firing an employee to get rid of one scandal point."

Restarted the game this morning, and the bug had returned.

"Hovering the mouse over "scandal points" does not cause the pop-up to pop-up."

This fixed itself after firing an employee to get rid of one scandal point.

= Hovering the mouse over "scandal points" does not cause the pop-up to pop-up.
= Stylist stuck on styling one idol at a time

Your #'s 1-2 are essentially what I was doing, almost every week, for two freaking ingame years.

Wasting the players time is not fun.
Forcing the player to pray to RNGesus is not fun.

Something in the mechanism is fundamentally broken.

I have spent nearly two years and have had hundred of conversations with my idols trying to identify a bully.  And have completely failed to do so.  And now - I seem to have a second bully.

This is utterly <censored> ridiculous and completely <censored> broken.

The whole relationships mechanic is annoying, period.

"See existing contracts when doing business proposals (see whether idol stamina cost per week/how many shows and contracts already has) "

Click on an idols portrait to see this.

You can change a girl's looks, once you've hired a stylist, by clicking on the stylist icon (pair of scissors)at the bottom of the screen.

Theatres will increase Smart and Funny.

Bugs collected over the weekend:

= Mental stamina loss announced for idols not using mental stamina.  At least, except for bullying, this feels like a bug to me.
= Idols who have lost mental stamina are picked up for auto heal by physicians that are set only for physical and being then treated for physical.
= Played the "No Critical Failure" card, still got hit with 30% loss of hype.
= Idol hired from "buyout copycat group" event not gaining fame.
= Bug: Idols nearing graduation have their physical stamina crash... This crash is not detected by physicians and not picked up for auto heal.

Honestly, it would be better to get rid of weird/nonstandard setup introduced in this update...  On the home screen should be "new game" and "load game"...  "New Game" would offer a choice of modes, and under "load game" the individual save files would show their mode, dates, etc...

Just a checkbox or something in the options...

You can hover over any staffer's portrait and see what they're working on.

And yes, one of the drawbacks to this game is that it has an extremely rough start and there's a narrow window between creeping towards eventual success and failure due to bankruptcy.

Stylists now level excruciatingly slow - working only  on her primary skill, it's taken one stylist most of a year to advance from two stars to four.  Given the extremely painful slowness of advancing through the higher star levels, that does not bode well for the future.  Seems to me that they need a slight boost in that department.

And I still don't understand why the two different types have such radically different starting levels.

I second the idea of having some way to save face and burn off scandal points.  They're pretty hard to get rid of, and an accumulation of even a small number can hurt badly.

Bug:  Not getting fame from lvl 1 photoshoots.

Well, they're certainly not working that way - all of mine are "cool/sexy" and they're still working on "cute" and "pretty".  And they're only leveling on "cool/sexy", regardless of the type.

And if they're meant to work that way, the difference in starting levels makes even less sense.

Pretty much what the title says...  in beta 17, they only seem to level on one 'track' - "cool/sexy".

- Had a concert and election due that day

- Saved and exited because I wanted to take a break

- Reloaded game and it went directly to the concert screen

(Yes, I'm at the current version.)

More bugs...

- Full screen display bug.  An idol was announcing her graduation date, idol appeared but the text overlay did not.  Could click through to the background.

- Single lineup screen bug. Putting idols into the lineup, when I moused over the idols in the lineup the tooltip was all the same idol.  Oddly enough, it wasn't an idol on my roster, or that had ever even been on my roster.  Exiting and reloading cured it.

- Concert playlist bug.  The idols who had centered the songs were all scrambled.  Exiting and reloading restored thing to normal.

- Spa Day bug.  The message displayed ("+ x stamina") when you click on the heart in the details panel does not always match the stamina displayed in the tooltip.  I think the details panel/tooltip are not getting properly updated.  This happens pretty consistently.

I agree, in terms of fans, the cafe is massively overpowered.  As a source of additional income, I'm not so sure.  Unless you build one early(ish), by the time you can comfortable afford a cafe - you don't need additional income.

I could see the cafe (and theater?) as more of an early game thing.  (The AKB048 model.)  A step just past the "modeling agency" stage.  (Though I'm not fond of that model, it is easiest starting strategy.)

Just had that same bug.

Thanks!

Do they leave the group, or swap to other idols?

(1 edit)

When you build a 2nd break room, it does not get the animations.
Edit:  A few loads & saves later, they showed up.

Playing a game on normal difficulty, did something that caused me to go into the red and start the bankruptcy countdown.  Reloaded from a save, and the countdown paused but remained on the screen.  Exiting and re-starting cleared the timer.

It would be very handy to be able to sort the idols by Friendship and Influence.

I agree with Mintygum...  Without buzz, media and most business proposals seem kinda pointless.  They don't get you the fans nor the fame that are worth the expenditure of your idol's physical stamina.

Buzz is a real world thing, and the game seems kinda incomplete without it.

Do you recall how long it took the internet show to become profitable?

- After a concert, the spacebar no longer pauses the game.

- When an idol has announced her graduation date, her physical stamina crashes (her recovery rate seems to crash and then recover).

- When an idol has announced her graduation date, her salary stops being updated and I start getting "not happy" messages.

Scroll up to my post about having problems with auditions, sam gives directions for clearing the cache which cured the problem for me.

"I usually have 15 idols once I have enough money and that's too many contracts for me to keep track of without it being displayed. "

It's not displayed (per se) but the information can be pulled up by right clicking on the girl's portrait.

Would it be possible to show the current right click display as a tooltip?  That would give a nice consistent interface, hover over their faces for the stats, hover over the stamina circles for current job(s) and extras.  Bonus if their matching Want also showed up in one or the other.

"When we click on the page with previously released singles, I would like a little button displaying who the center of that single was. "

With the latest update, just hover your mouse over the song to see the center.

"When getting girls into contracts (TV shows/advertisements) it'd be super useful to display how many contracts they're already in and how much stamina they're losing per week."

Right click on the girl's portrait to see this information.

Just went through my second awards show...  loved the snarky comments by my idols!

Love how you showed just enough of the awards to see this bigger picture, but not the whole thing which would be a boring slog.  Are the groups featured in the show the ones that are supposed to be rivals?  (I haven't encountered a rival yet, so not clear on how it works.)

I hit the same problem with auditions hanging, and sadambober posted a procedure to clear the cache which cleared the problem for me.   Scroll up a bit and you'll see it.

"Sorry, I may have used the wrong wording to convey my thoughts."

Yes, you did.  And I was as polite as possible in my reply...  But then you doubled down on the condescension in your second reply, so now the gloves are off.

I've been playing serious and complex games of various types (that is, more than Monopoly) since my senior year in high school nearly forty years ago. I've been beta testing games of various types off and on for twenty five odd years.  I do not need you lecturing me on how the process works, as I'm quite well versed in it.

I am also quite aware of the stage of development of Idol Manager.   And and important part of this stage is the developers hearing from users all across the spectrum - from those that find it easy as well as those that find it hard.  Unless you have a private line to the developers, you have no idea of their intentions.  Nor do you know if the difficulties some have encountered are intentional or unintentional.  They could be a feature.  They could be an unintentional consequence of the recent changes, or they could be a flat out bug.

And with that, I will end my part in this particular subthread.  My apologies to others who had to wade through this.
