That's odd :/
I added all the files to the download so I'm not sure what is causing this issue, sorry! but thanks for the kind words on the images :)
A really interesting concept and beautiful art style for this game.
I also think your use of SFX and the music in particular are perfect, really builds the atmosphere of the game and gives it this otherworldly, surreal feel as you explore.
Enjoyed this and think you should definitely explore this further :)
Incredibly atmospheric and a really creative, cool game made within the 64 resolution boundary.
The proximity effect really had me on edge when trying to navigate my way around and far from that creature. The SFX used adds so much to the feeling of being in that environment and you definitely tapped into my unease at being trapped there. I wouldn't say I have a phobia of that, but its definitely something I was eager to get out of and back to the safety of the sub! Got my heart racing in parts :p
The various dark shades, mixed with the beacons shining in the darkness really add so much to this game and always gives you just enough light to see where you need to go, but enough darkness to keep you on edge. Love the art style here :D
I really enjoyed this and think you've done an amazing job with it. :)
Thank you for taking the time to play my first game and the detailed feedback is very much appreciated!
It was also my first time using the Parallax scrolling so I'm glad you noticed that and the constraints of the resolution made this an interesting challenge to create a game in, characters especially. I shall definitely be looking into how coyote time changes the feel of the game and how to get the optimum camera angle on the character. Plenty of stuff to learn from this! :D
Thanks also for the nice comment on my devlog too, thought I would use it as something I can hopefully reflect on in the future as the starting point in my journey learning to make video games and how I learned from some of the newbie mistakes I made along the way! :p
I think this is one of the most impressive games I have played so far on this Jam. You couldn't have squeezed more atmosphere into this game if you tried and the sense of dread when sailing forward, the combination of the SFX and soundtrack and the use of lighting.....all within the limit of 64 pixel resolution. Wow!
The slow turns you make in this game definitely add to the horror, not knowing if turning your gaze away could leave you vulnerable. I wouldn't change that, it feels like it should moving around in a large spacesuit.
This is one of my favorites played so far and an excellent job to you for making this banger! :D
This game is very cool and I have to say that once you start nailing certain rhythm patterns it is very satisfying, almost like you are making the music yourself (which thankfully the track continues when I am flailing around on the keyboard - something I very much appreciated!) I was locked in! Excellent work with this and the soundtrack is a banger! :D
This games art style is great, the fact that you have managed it within the constraints of 64 pixels and in the time frame makes it even more impressive!
The character movement and attacks feel smooth, as do the enemy movements. I really like the touch of your melee chopping down the grass as you fight enemies. This is a really cool game and think you have done a great job with this. :)
I have no idea what the ultimate sammich looks like, I thought I was onto a winner when I was 1000ft above sea level with the scale of my sammich.......but clearly this was not enough......must try harder next time!
Fun game and tricky when the Sushi comes into play, very creative approach to the Jam :)
Having Spent 47 minutes playing this game, I think I can say its a banger!
Love the art style of the game and the atmospheric music is perfect. Level design is great and I did have to explore every inch of the map to find the endgame area, but it was a fun experience and I really like how you have created the map for this game. All the UI elements and sounds work great, though I noticed partway through my gun effects sound stopped (but this might have been me clicking on something off-screen that caused it.
Needless to say, I think this is going to be a top contender for this Jam! :D
