Hi! Got a quick rules question!

My son got me this game (and print & cut all the pieces, in a card box he drew title art on!) for my birthday.

One thing we’ve discovered is that it’s unclear if Items are ever used up. There’s no rule about it either way, so we assume none of them have to be discarded, but just wanted to be clear.

Two is that Sheildon getting the Shiny Shield seems to break the game a bit: we were playing a four player game (with lots of items on the table and folks with various characters in play) and he just couldn’t be stopped. Especially because he had items of his own for flexibility.

If that’s just part of the play then that’s cool, but wanted to be sure!

I made it in large part because I wanted to play or run a Craft RPG, and one does not currently exist. So I created a similar framework and a method for the players to create their own setting for it.

Love the game's concept, the table to generate the killer, and the way that failures are used to move the events forward in an interesting way. A killer concept.

I like the way the game adapts the Caltrop Core rules to create a structure for more traditional adventuring and trouble-making! The art sets a good tone, and the mechanics introduced are approachable. Great stuff.

What a cool idea, and so easily adapted to almost any game!

A neat little game with some fun mechanics that take advantage of the distinctive use of d4s in the Caltrop Core game mechanics. Also, always love to see a nice cloak & dagger themed game!

Thanks! I’m hoping to do a small update and some optional rules to add on as another document this week, too.

That makes sense! I was too focused on the colored charts, I think.

What a cool idea, and done as part of a 6-day game jam, no less!

Thanks so much! I'm not sure I'd ever find the time to go through them all, but I've been trying to find the time to go through the ones that have caught my eye and those of folks who have reached out. It was a blast!

Oh, very nice! I ran it through AnyDice early on but you went well beyond!

Quick question: In the Combat tab, I am having trouble reading the Damage Dealt/Taken tables. Are the numbers inside the yellow and green cells the number of times the dice came up with that result? And, if so, is there a reason you switched from percentages in those sorts of cells over to the raw numbers?

What a cute and simple little game! It does exactly what it says, replicating the experience of caring for a little digital pet... something I never thought I would type!

It’s truly impressive how succinctly this little game is put even as it builds on the Caltrop Core system in interesting ways. Loved the little tables at the end!

A dead simple system that somehow strikes the perfect balance between being perfectly approachable and incredibly firm a foundation to build numerous (very different) games upon.
