Sorry! Did not mean to ignore. Really appreciate the time and effort you've put into this :)

Thanks so much! The original scope of the game was much larger but I trimmed it way down to focus on learning the basics. But would love to do either an expanded version of the game or some kind of sequel. Bigger map, multiple towns, more in-depth NPC storylines... kicking around a bunch of ideas right now, so definitely keep an eye out!
And I like your idea! Definitely want to experiment with more palettes or more realistic light sources in the future.
Talking to the Sheriff is actually optional, all it does is add a bit more context to the story. You don’t need to talk to him to progress the game, you can complete the game without ever talking to him.
I just played through the quests until obtaining the knife, and at that point I was still able to talk to the sheriff, so I’m not sure I’m able to reproduce the blocker you’re describing.
As a hint, obtaining the knife allows you to access a new area where you can collect another item. If that doesn’t help, please feel free to email me with more info on the problem you’re running into!

Thank you! Fixed that NPC bug in v1.0.1.
There are some "alternate endings" depending on the choices you make at the end, but the alt endings allow you to restart a checkpoint. There is only one "true" ending, so if you got to the credits, you experienced that ending.
There is one decision you can make about mid-way that will give you slightly different outcomes in that particular encounter, but this encounter doesn't affect the ending.
Great work! I used one of these tracks, and one from Vol. 2 in my game Foal's Creek.
