Thanks! And yeah I haven't been able to fix the dialogue system's text that much

Cleared the stage! Honestly I thought there would be another but then I checked the description

It's short but it IS a shmup, given the limited resources it's quite challenging given how the enemies (and bullets) were placed around the place--and also a 'wall' of circular enemies caught me off guard it was fun

I know it's still WIP but its pixels and animation are well overall! It would be cool to see where this is going (as 'Smol Witch Saves the World')

Thank you! ^^

Glad to hear that!

I managed to finish making a game

This was submitted to the 1-Button Jam 2024

Nice concept! The way you have to time your input correctly by following the rhythm is a nice touch

I got it run on Linux too via Wine perfectly, so there were no issues on my side

The only problem I had is my own skill issue, I can't get past beyond a certain point and so I can't make it to the caterpillar! (;ω; )

Thanks!

Get ready for a 1-button top-down shooter with knives and bugs!

Kunai Kitten is a game of a ninja cat defeating the bugs who ambushed them.

Submitted for 1-Button Jam 2024, all controls are using a single spacebar only.

Try it out and test your aim precision for free!

Kunai Kitten

Want to read about its development and some behind the scenes? Read the devlog here!

Stylized theme and catchy music design, altogether with solid game mechanics!

I love how it feels when your projectile lands on the bugs, I guess they just have enough size for their hitboxes—regardless it just feels right hitting them at the right timing

Also the aim! It's cool to see a familiar control but you can adjust the length of your aim! It was really funny to use this mechanic, it forces you to make optimal adjustments to your aim in relative to the path they're going with—I really really REALLY liked this part of the game

Lastly, the ant with a bomb. It caught me off guard! I panicked at the first encounter since I know how damaging it could be receiving a bomb from an ant

Overall, it was brilliant game. Enjoyable and really fun (addicting) game loop. If you're done with the main story, you can challenge yourself with endless mode

Thanks a lot!! (;ω; )

Yes I did really a lot and as much as possible with art since it's the field I'm quite experience with, so I'm happy to hear you found them like the UI to be beautiful (;ω; )

Hello Fava Beans!

It's nice to see you here. Thanks for trying it out and for the feedback! (;ω; )

Glad you find the art cute ( ノ^ω^)ノ

Fun and addictive gameplay

I'm not good at these kind of game mechanics but I enjoyed it nonetheless--it was satisfying to make the correct inputs

Not to mention you can queue your inputs, as well as it has an endless mode (although I can't get past 200+ since it's too fast at that point)

Overall, really neat game

Came to try out 20-second game entries and I'm glad I did

Really neat gameplay and character design too

(I also got the job btw ^^)

Always nice to see PICO-8 games on jams, I haven't tried making games on them before but nonetheless they're interesting (and cute ofc)

Congrats on finishing the game 🎉

Completed all the levels and I genuinely had fun with the gameplay

It's well polished, the effects were juicy, and most importantly the physics was frustrating but the learning  process was fun

Congrats on finishing the game 🎉

I've already commented to this but the game uses the agreement theme well

It presents how players should work together given the limited time for the next move

Love the visuals and how juicy the effects are

It also followed agreement here, and I think if there was still a lot of time to work on this there would be more obstacles for the players to cooperate with in order to progress

Overall it's a cool concept

One of the best uses with a single button I've played. It's really challenging and unfortunately for me I can't finish it (skill issue).

It's a bit hard to get at first, but you'll eventually get used to the controls (ofc it's still different when it comes on precision)

Congrats on the game 🎉

Solid game for me. The core gameplay felt polished and smooth. The different rules on each monster were refreshing, and it just went beyond the limitations of a single button.

Also the touch support as alternative for spacebar key on mobile is a nice touch.

I'm sorry but it isn't allowed for commercial purposes as stated with its license

I only allow its use on non-commercial works

Thank you

Still lucky though

As for me I managed to save some f2p gems, only to spend them during Kaden's event :/

But what's done is done I guess, and I'm still happy to have Shuna on party

Kuromi Mockup, Sackboy (Flameclaw hoodie, Little Big Planet/Invizimals), Icelion Max (Invizimals), Black Rock Shooter Mockup

Didn't know this piece got attention, but about it yeah they really went for a collab which is such a surprise and treat :D

It was a bonus that Shuna's a free character, yet, too bad my luck sucked for Rimuru and alike

Konata (Lucky Star), Flameclaw Max (Invizimals), Bomberman Mockup, Shana (Shakugan no Shana)

Bunny lady, Invizimals Draco Max, Space Mockup, Horror Mockup

We all cooked 🔥🔥🍳

Thank you!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad that you find it cute ^^

Thank you

I love how many UI elements and menus are present here.

Also, the level/gameplay scene has its sprites placed carefully; it's immersive for me.

Overall, of it complements with the art style and its colors!

Great work Zuhaitz and Aina! ✨✨

Thank you!

Thanks! It took a lot of time and it's all worth it ✨

Thank you! I did my best to make it feel cozy 🌈✨

Thank you!

Thank you Zuhaitz! I love making cute and colorful subjects for the game concept ✨✨

Thank you!

Thank you!

The game mechanic in which the player must kill the character in order to spawn at certain areas is really clever. I like the boat part in this game.
