This really intrigued me! The first jump scare really got me, I'll be honest. After the first time I was able to spot him lying in wait pretty easily and it didn't make sense for it not to trigger a chase if you spot him first. After the opening scene I found myself pretty suspicious of every character I met. Interested in seeing if it has something to do with the world, paranoia, or ending up in a town of creeps. The texts were appropriately unsettling, however I found myself wandering the mansion without much direction or signaling. Keep polishing and working on this idea, it's a really good start!

I don't do a lot of reviews on Itch.io but WOW. This one really hit at a couple of points. The box lugging in the early game was tedious, but I got legitimately startled more than once as things picked up. Clear Hereditary and Skinamarink influences make this a really nice mix of unexpected situations that keep you guessing. My only gripe would be the signaling for when you can no longer interact with certain objects. The prompts stop appearing but it isn't clear what the next trigger is. Still, it always stayed interesting, and got a couple of out loud "WHOA" moments out of me, which is rare anymore. Now if I can just figure out how to unlock that one door...
Great work, the indie horror scene needs more gems like this.
I think there is a good idea with the spooky library setting. Unfortunately the control scheme and UI are unintuitive and the "monster" trapped me against a wall where I couldn't move. Thought it would kill me on contact but it's just an obstacle. I would also move the "run" to shift if you're using the WASD control, since not everyone will have a Mouse Button 5. I'd like to see a future build of this and try it again!
