Everything is updated, it just freezes on a screen with a shelf and what I think is the Player character in a lounge chair or something, this happens every time after I press new game. I can still manipulate the window itself, but the game becomes frozen.
*Edit: Got the game to finally run by changing the properties and launching it from Win7, also the reason it appeared soft locked was that for no reason I can figure out the game was super zoomed in, regardless of resolution, so I was unable interact with the arrow buttons to navigate the prologue.
