Hi! Just some points I'd do to improve on this:

- First redo the running animation. Take a good look at what the legs are really doing, but also note how the upper body is working too. For example, in a proper running motion, the body leaves the ground. Decide on whether you want a running or a walking animation.

- Weapon swings need to be larger. If you want to make a more natural, realistic animation, you need to take a look at different stages in a swing, like lunge, accelerating the blade and swinging out after the hit/non-hit.

- Next I would maybe add a landing animation

Have fun working on this!

Thank you for your kind review!

The game misses explanation and requires previous knowledge of Conway's Game of Life. Even understanding it, it is rather difficult to control in it's current state.

I will get back to this game and see in which direction I want to take it.

Congrats on your first game jam submission. I finished a game for once, which is rare.

Yeah, I had similar times, haha. Looks fun and I like the sounds. Might check it out later.

I'm a beginner programmer and did a half finished 2D minigolf before in Godot. I probably spent well over a 100 hours, even though I was on holiday for 6 days. Was so nackered by the end, but learned a LOT. Code is pretty messy, but got the job done in the end. Would like to scale it up, but performance needs to be improved first.

Here it is, if you want to check it out:
