Wow thanks a lot for playing and the comments! You're always welcome to look through the comment section for some hints (and a link to Kuchiwo's walkthough). I think I made that level a bit too diabolical and pretty much everyone suffered, sorry!
This is the intended solution, congrats! I think I did say something about how doing this is not required on another island, maybe that was misleading.
You probably found an unintended way to get there, and by doing so bypassed all my softlock-prevention measures. Sorry about that! See if you can revert to the last checkpoint to renew the checkpoint's state. Kuchiwo Tsugumi has made a playthrough video in case you want to look up the intended solution.
