This was a cute and slightly ominous story and I really enjoyed the song at the end! I had not heard of Emily and the Blackouts before and definitely want to explore their discography further now.

¡Gracias por jugar Die Another Day! Me alegra que te hayas identificado con el juego.

Thanks! (I know the metaphor here gets very thin in places, which is what I get for focusing on volume of words over having any time to edit, so I'm glad it still worked for you.)

Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I initially did intend it to be longer, but poor time management got the better of me.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Aww, sorry about that! But I'm glad you enjoyed the writing!

Thank you! Definitely there's a lot here that's drawn from experience (on either side of the screen; I'll admit I'm the player who, when the party splits up, will start to zone out whenever it's not my turn), so I'm glad that shines through despite the witches and werewolves.

It's just a Twine game. It doesn't even have any custom JavaScript. I have no idea what would be setting off your antivirus.

You should be able to select links using tab and enter like on any webpage, if that's what you're asking?

Glad to have answered the question for you! Since the major comps don't place limitations on updates anymore, it seemed like it would be weird to be strict about it in a comp that's supposed to be more laid-back in general. If people abuse the ability, we'll reconsider for future rounds, but it seems unlikely that that will happen.

Of course - there are no limitations on updates during the event (as you might guess, since we didn't disable uploading new versions of games during the voting period).

FYI, that information, along with other key info about the jam, is on the jam overview page, which I encourage you to read over if you haven't yet! https://itch.io/jam/if-short-games-showcase-2023

Yes, looks good now!

Heads up, I think you need to tick the "enable scrollbars" box - it's under "Embed options" on the edit page for the project. Without that, it's impossible to scroll down when the text doesn't all fit on one screen (I'm playing on a pretty small laptop).

Thank you! That is exactly what I was aiming for, so it's nice to hear that it came through.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I'm not familiar with The Ballroom -- I'll have to check it out!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes, there is a possible ending in which the PC escapes.

I appreciate the heads up! That should be fixed now.

This is a lot of fun! Unfortunately I haven't managed to get far enough to start thinking about the larger optimization puzzle--it would have been nice to have hints/solutions for the individual puzzles available--but what I've seen so far has been great. The visual design is really cool, too.

I really enjoyed this! It's a very atmospheric little game, and although there are references to various things, the Greek mythology provides a strong central theming to tie it all together. I got all of the achievements. (I found that the hardest one to get was having the candle go out before I reached the end, but I see that on the game page you've already talked about tweaking the balance once the comp is over.)

Thank you! Between the rest of the Ectocomp games and the fact that a lot of people are still playing/judging IFComp, I know everyone's attention is really divided right now, so I was aiming to make it enjoyable to replay without making it strictly necessary to do so.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks! I'm glad you found the characters/interactions genuine. When you have a relatively large number of characters and not that much screentime, it's hard to thread the needle of making them distinctive without making them seem like a collection of obnoxiously quirky traits, and I feel like any given attempt at that is going to fail for some portion of the audience, but as long as it worked for some people, I'm happy.
