Arcjam Closing Ceremony

To celebrate the huge success of Arcjam: The Card Game Challenge, Arcweave is hosting a live closing ceremony on December 16th in our Discord server.

This is where our team comes together to play, review, and livestream all the Arcjam entries and wait for the winners to be announced. The event runs from 4pm-5:30pm GMT, with winners announced at 5:20pm GMT. So, don't miss out! Grab your team and hop in the call with us to hear our thoughts on your game.

We will be keeping an eye on chat, so feel free to ask any questions or add any insight there. This live stream will also be recorded and uploaded to YouTube for anyone who can't make it.

Thank you to everyone who's entered Arcjam 2024 and made this the biggest jam we've ever hosted.

Mark yourself as interested for the event here: https://discord.gg/WG5sjCUU?event=1311289729794179102

We have now added a third video to this series which covers advanced features such as:

  • Choosing the player at the beginning.
  • Switching players during gameplay.
  • Levelling up players during gameplay.

An updated game build will be uploaded to the google drive later today, once we've ironed out some final bugs.

Hello again Arcjammers!

As promised, the Arcweave team have just released a two-parter tutorial video detailing everything we discussed in the Discord live event, including:

  • How to join Arcjam
  • How to download and set up the card game
  • How to fetch data from Arcweave to your card game build
  • How to modify wizards, decks, dialogue, and combat sequences
  • How to modify card game settings (including music, title, description, images, etc.)
  • How to add credits

If you're getting started on your card game and don't know how it all works, this short tutorial series is definitely worth a watch.

Part 1: Setting up and modding your card game

Part 2: Changing dialogue

As always, if you have any questions at all please let us know via our Discord server and we will get you support as soon as possible.

Have fun jamming!

Happy Halloween folks!

The Arcweave team is excited to announce that the Arcjam prize pool has now increased to over $800 with the addition of another $100 Amazon gift card. This means that Arcjam now has amazing prizes for the top 4 participants, making this the biggest Arcjam we've ever hosted.

This huge announcement is thanks to Arcjam's  generous sponsor Saxion University of Applied Sciences, who have made this prize pool possible.

Saxion

Saxion is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27,000 students. With roots running back to 1875, the University stands today as an important centre of expertise at a regional, national and international level. Saxion offers a broad range of courses at various levels, including many international programmes.

One of the most exciting programmes hosted by Saxion is their Creative Media and Game Technologies Bachelor degree which teaches students everything they need to know about creative media and game technologies. This team-based programme empowers students to work together on challenges to experience the industry pipeline and become fully prepared starting professionals.

Thank you once again to Saxion for sponsoring Arcjam and making this the most exciting jam we've held so far.

Hey all,

Just a reminder for those participating in Arcjam that it is essential for you to register yourself and/or your team via our google forms: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxZY-M35qUKON0EK0d6ZZ5KR4U-0N8Kr5eJ3aX...

This allows us to invite you into your own special, ready-made Arcweave project which you need to sync with your card game build.

If you do not register with the form, you will not be able to recreate the card game template.

Once the jam begins, if you still have not registered yourself or your team using the google form, please get in contact with one of our team members via our Discord server and we will manually add you to your own project.

See you all at the jam today!

Hey there! Once you register your team, we will send out a link for you to download the template via Google Drive once the jam starts. We will also post a link to the template on our itch.io page.

Hey again,

The Arcweave team has recently published an article discussing Arcjam 2024 and detailing the jam instructions in a little bit more depth. It's only a 5 minute read, so if you want a head start on learning how modding the card game template works, it will be well worth your time!

The Arcweave team will also be discussing similar topics in their Discord Discussion event next week, so if you have any questions about the article, feel free to let them know during that event.

Discord Discussion

In preparation for Arcjam 2024: The Card Game Challenge, we are hosting a discussion in the Arcweave Discord server on October 22nd, 4pm BST where we will be chatting about the jam, playing through our card game template, and showing off how the modding works.

If you intend to join the jam, you will definitely want to attend this discussion - this is your chance to ask our CEO Manos any questions you might have and learn directly from the Arcweave team how you can modify the card game template yourself.

The discussion will be held in our aw-voice channel, so feel free to join the call and speak to us directly - or, if you don’t want to speak on mic, you can join muted and write your questions in text chat. Even if you don’t have any questions, you can also join just to listen in!

All are welcome to attend, even those who aren’t sure if they want to join Arcjam - don’t be shy!

If you're interested in attending, you can join the event here: https://discord.gg/P99ZM3nTTd?event=1293918357472411732
