As far as I understand it, it is allowed as long as only the two colors displayed only.
I imagine such thing as a 2D Topdown game where your hero walks into a forest and everything is green/black (or brown) and after some time he reaches another region, maybe mountains where everything is white/gray / black/gray etc. :-)
