Thanks for checking it out! I'm glad you liked it.  :)

I talk about what it was like working with Voice Actors in my latest update on KickStarter. I never worked with voice actors before and it’s been a very interesting experience working with them so closely, and really helping them along in realizing my vision, but at the same time picking up on their strengths and appreciating what they bring to the project.  :)

A Near Dawn - KickStarter Update #5

I talk about inspiration in storytelling - focusing of course on my own and in particular what inspired A Near Dawn:

We launched on KickStarter! Excitement! Fireworks!

Finally! This is my first ever KickStarter campaign (super nervous about it) - Please have a look at it and if there is anything you can do to help share or support it, we would greatly appreciate it!  :)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
As I mentioned, I really liked the vid you made. It's fun!  :)

We just released an Android version of it, and our KickStarter is coming up on October 24th, so hopefully things go well from here...

Haha! That's amazing!
I'm glad you had so much fun with it, Clown Nebula!  :)
My favorite comment was "... she is the closest thing to a zombie I've seen."
Thanks! I think Don Juan might like you.  ;P

Our BRAND NEW TRAILER for A Near Dawn!

We're working on a new trailer for A Near Dawn...

Our Demo is coming out in a few days! We would like to do a crowdfunding campaign shortly after that to help get support for the project - without further ado, our proposed crowdfunding campaign is on PREFUNDIA:

Please let us know what you think, if you have any suggestions or if we missed something you'd be interested in!  :)

Somethings is funky with that first post... can't get things to quite align properly.  :/

Anyway, I finally made an Itch.io page for my project A NEAR DAWN! Yay! I've been working on this game on and off for about three years and I'm really excited to be so close to finally releasing it! We hope to have it ready to go by September 25th, so look forward to it and let me know what you think.   :)

WHAT IS THIS DARKNESS?

A Near Dawn is a charmingly devastating psychological thriller with amusing highs, gut-wrenching crashes, and mature themes.

When Seattle-based attorney Sam Nichols, a victim to some disturbing psychological difficulties, takes an important new case, he finds himself exposed to progressively dire circumstances that threaten to unravel his reality and destroy those closest to him. With his mentor's firm on the brink of collapse, Sam will have to take on a ruthless multinational corporation being protected by some of the vilest people you could imagine. The odds already seem slim, but you will soon learn that things were never as they appeared - as an even deeper conspiracy begins to emerge. Where will you find yourself if you keep untangling the threads to this mystery? You must be brave to uncover the truth!

A Near Dawn is greatly inspired by traditional Point & Click Adventure games, and inherits some  of their wit, humor, and even interface on top of a Visual Novel platform, compelling you to navigate both the internal and external darkness that threatens to consume our protagonist yourself.

This is a Visual Novel Adventure with Point & Click elements, featuring:

  • Beautiful artwork and animations rendered in 1080p
  • Immersive cinematics with frame-by-frame art
  • Original soundtrack composed for the game
  • Fully voiced audio provided by exceptionally talented actors
  • Point and Click interface with puzzles to solve - the flow of this game is inspired by traditional adventure games
  • Dynamic decisions that alter the course of your interactions with others - be they rewards or consequences for your actions
  • Psychological tension - the main character has a darker personality who will come to the surface if you feed that darkness with the decisions you make
  • Multiple endings - but your successes or failures can take you off course, leading you to a different
  • Episodic narrative - This is a full game, but it is part of an ambitious project with a far-reaching storyline

The plot will not progress without you, you are in control of the main character's actions at every turn. You will explore your environment and speak to other characters to learn about what is happening and what must be done. A key concept of this game was to give as much freedom and put as much detail into the content of the story as could be managed, as such you will have the option to skip important elements of the game not necessary for advancing the main plot if your character chooses to ignore them or fails to explore them. At the same time, you will not be able to move forward without resolving issues necessary for advancing the story along.

Thank you! :)

Hey Tuxie211! Well, you're pretty yummy to the ghosts. You might have to suck up to them a bit to make them like you enough to be Ghost Friends. :) Someone asked me to make a walkthrough a long time ago - https://goo.gl/Wtr2p9 . You can try referencing it if you decide to give it another shot some time.

Thanks Bellannmae! I'm happy you enjoyed it. :)

Nope, this game is independently produced and free to play for the masses.

Thanks soltree! :)

It's nice to see you having fun with it, Marc! Even if you didn't learn things. :)

NOW ALSO AVAILABLE FOR ANDROID! DOWNLOAD FREE FROM:

Put A Sock In It! is the first release from Far-off Daydream Games. It is an outrageously silly choose-your-own-adventure game that features about 90 Endings and 30 Life Lessons you will help the characters learn.

What would you do if you were trapped someplace all alone? Put A Sock In It! dares ask the question: How far would you go in the name of entertaining yourself?

Serena

"This isn't even the worst place I've been locked in.
* sigh * We don't think about that, Serena."

With all her coworkers gone for the weekend, no way of contacting the outside world, and no hint of rescue in sight, Serena will discover that maybe, just maybe, her best friend is actually herself. And these puppets she just made from her socks...

Having locked herself in a stairwell, Serena is quickly beginning to run out of distractions. Thankfully, she has two colorful socks and a penchant for amusing herself. To pass the time she will weave short, humorous skits between characters of your choice in this choose-your-own-adventure, with storylines ranging from romantic melodrama between princess and stable boy to violent quarrels with an evil wizard or spooky ghost.
