*laughs* Nice for what it is. It legit made me jump the first time I came around the corner and saw him. I even said "He's gonna be right there. I can hear him." and it still startled me.

If you do add a death screen/animation, please keep it to no more than a second. Something a lot of devs don't seem to get is that forcing a player to repeatedly sit through a long "scary" animation every time they get caught actually makes it less scary. FNAF got the timing right for that part.

Honestly I like the lack of any death animation. You're gonna die a lot (it's right in the name) so I'm glad you don't have to sit through one each time. Maybe flash the screen red for half a second as you respawn to let you know he got ya, or force the player to spin around to face Mario if he came up behind you, so you at least are forced to see him and know he got you, but still instantly respawn after this.  Extended death animations get repetitive really quickly.
