Yes, it's actually two sine waves with a different base frequency and a random offset, one for the large waves, the other for the smaller waves.
As their offset changes, the whole wavefront stays still, then it grows up to a random level which can get higher and higher as the levels progress!

The most interesting part of the wave is the way it's drawn by picking random columns of pixels from a very tiny palette. I'm quite proud of how it came out!

I really like the wall-jump mechanic. The music is very annoying, especially as the volume keeps dropping in order for the jump sound to appear.
There's a bug in the last platform on the right in the final level that makes you get stuck. However the colours are nice and it's quite challenging!

The looks are amazing. The colours really fit together a lot.
How did you do the shader?
Speaking of the gameplay, I find it very hard to find whomever I should give the mail to, but still I really enjoy cycling around.

Very nice level design and progression, chill music, interesting mechanics!

The graphics are a little poor, but everything else is incredibly good for a 48h project. Kudos!

It's very creepy, there were only 2 puzzles though...
But my compliments for your first attempt at a jam! It was the first time for me too!
