what is your difficulty level?
cyber has a lot of hp but definitely enough ammo on level to kill him - should take about 2-3 minutes (firing/dodging/getting ammo)
and cannot save within a level (they are quite short anyway) - progress is saved between levels only.

virtua racing uses a technique called ‘multi-cart’ not compatible with splore.
you can download the p8 files, see the ‘standalone’ version for that.
no - either play from itch or download the binaries. you don’t need pico8 development environment to play.
there is a whole sdk available: https://github.com/freds72/poom-sdk
similar to making a total conversion for Doom.
