I managed to score 2886 and get to the third last stage

I suggest giving the orbs a greater mass and decreasing the floor friction so that when orbs hit other orbs, they roll to the end instead of just a little bit to one side, also it would make the game much easier if we could move the smaller orbs further to the side so we can stack them up the side and keep them in order

You need to change the default program for that file type
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs then select associatea file type or protocol with a program and change .rar to your rar opener

8 is likely hardcoded since the sprites only come in 8 versions

I've found that if you change Valledeau's difficulty  number her final measurement will be less, the sprites will change as usual though.
You could try adding a new tag in the XML files and writing dialogue for a new stage to see if anything happens
