Okay, I've been wondering why this game has been getting more traffic lately; that must be why. :D

Epic lol. Glad you enjoyed it :D

A program called Py to EXE.

Thank you for the feedback; I have also noticed the difficulty spike on the third expedition. Some characters are definitely more viable than others, but it is definitely punishing. Whether or not the game was beatable wasn't really a concern of mine when I made it. I still enjoy making games and am glad that you enjoyed this game of mine.

I appreciate the comment I am glad you like it!

This is a really cool idea.

Dang it. Oh well, I am still interested in the rest of the submissions. It is cool that people are still into these parser-based text games.

And I still have 24 days to make a real parser game for the jam. We will see what happens!

I am building a text  game with a pseudo-parser, and I wanted to know if that was within the bounds of the rules for the jam. What I mean by pseudo parser is that every option you can take is listed out in front of you and numbered, so to enter the command you can just enter the number.

This is a screenshot from a game made by someone else called Warsim, which shows a similar system to what I am describing.

Warsim: The Realm of Aslona on Steam

Also, the game is WIndows only. Is that a problem?

I uploaded the screenreader-friendly executable. Also fixed some bugs.

It isn't compiled. I can work on a compiled version.

Hello, I just released the raw text version of the game on GitHub. The file is called "thecrusadersquest1.1screenreader.py".

I would say your best shot for race is a Human or Dwarf, and your best shot for class is Knight, Hunter, or Adventurer.

I am glad that this game gave you some joy. I can't promise any timely changes because of real life stuff, but making this game playable for screen readers is a great idea, and I am sorry about the state of the game. I should have realized that this game wasn't playable for screen readers. Thank you for your response.

Thank you for the feedback. In hindsight, I am wondering if I didn't just want to write a short story instead of a game! Also, I finally uploaded the version of the game that doesn't have the ending bugged out.

This game has a lot of potential if you decide to continue with the project or idea because the mechanic of building your own monster by digging up the parts is fun.

I know that you guys made each round last as much as the song, but it felt a little abstract in game. I think you could have police or something be the threat if you don't make it in time. Other than that, I think that the time limit fits well with the There and Back again theme, as it makes the going back in forth a gameplay factor in your race against time. Some of the collisions with the trees and gravestones were a little wonky, which made traversal a little annoying.

Diggenstein is a cool game with a cool mechanic, and I think it has the potential to be expanded upon.
