i like this theory! maybe the eye ripping, skull crushing part was meant to symbolize the unwillingness to acknowledge our own flaws. creature's will to be seen and its brutal way of achieving this is like our own voice of reason calling to "open our eyes", both figuratively and literally, to the feelings and issues that've been suppressed.

i've played this game a few years ago when i was younger. i couldn't really fully immerse in the creature's words back then because of my naivety. i replayed it with a more mature perception of things and it was a very wonderful experience. i can sympathize with the creature in more ways than i'd like.
