That's correct!

https://archiveofourown.org/works/39132912/

I reworked my text adventure into this visual novel, with a few rewrites here and there, but it's mostly the same with a few added jokes. And uh, sorry for taking a month to reply, I've not really checked on the comments in a while.

Oh wow, that is exceptional work! I wish there was a way I could favourite or pin that reply or something, but since there's not, all I can do is say that you rock.

You could just post it here, if someone's digging through the comments and reading this conversation thread I'm guessing they don't mind spoilers. No pressure, of course! You can also just not post it, I'm not your boss.

Oh hell yeah, that is extremely cool! I want to see it! Have you posted it anywhere?

There aaare 12 endings, I think, after a quick ctrl+f through the game script! So, really, 11 failure states and 1 proper ending where X is defeated and everything works out.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the game! I wish Ren'Py had some easy way to make flowcharts of the possible options, which would work as a guide, I'd make one in a heartbeat! But it doesn't, and the third-party solutions don't seem to work either.

!SPOILERS AHEAD!

As for your first question, I'm not sure what you're referring to! If you're wondering why Sunny thought X would die when Sunny "killed himself," it's because Tyler Durden died when the main character of Fight Club "kills himself" (in this universe, Sunny has seen Fight Club for some reason).

No problem at all, I always skip the credits of everything too. And thanks again! Kel will fulfill his wish of becoming a drummer in a band, but then... (Someone gets killed, obviously, that's how detective stories go.)

Oh wow, thank you for the compliments! I am actually sorta working on a "sequel" already, with more focus on Kel because he's fun to write.

Buuut I do have to point out that I can't take much credit for the character art! I'm glad I apparently managed to make it look "natural," through editing of colours, character sizes, giving Kel stubble, adding the cigarettes to hands, etc., but as the About section and credits point out, the actual art is by Iwose! Who is a very good artist and allows his Picrews to be used for more or less anything. So I can only in the vaguest terms maybe take some credit for some of the designs. I encourage you to play around with his Picrews, though, there's a lot of fun stuff there I didn't have a chance to use.

Aww, thanks! Getting nice comments always makes my day. And, as usual, it turns out that the things I had the most fun writing turns out to be the parts people like the most!

Since you mentioned the sexual jokes, though, I should point out that I sort of technically made another game before this, specifically Feral Basil: The Text Adventure. Way shorter, and without visuals, but it's basically one big sexual joke that got out of hand. The premise is that, uuh, Basil is some sort of cryptid with a very specific goal in mind.

You move closer to the window, trying to make out what it is that's moving out in the backyard. It seems to be ... Basil? He's trudging along on all fours and sniffing the ground, occasionally raising his head and sniffing the air.

Yeeeah, that is by far the saddest ending, and I for some reason decided to have it be, like, the first ending you can get. But, as the ending note says, the rest of the VN is less sad!

Hehe, you are not the first person to ask! The artist is one HornyDaddy, who, to give full warning, does draw some very questionable non-con NSFW stuff at times. The specific drawing is here (NSFW), but it's worth noting that I edited the dress on for the VN, in the original one Basil is quite a lot less dressed.

Aww, thanks! Seeing people enjoying the things I've made is a nice mood booster. And for the record, by this point about 750 people have played Detective Sunny, which is way more than I ever expected, so that's enough of a fandom for me!

Whoaaah! You should be very satisfied with that drawing, that's great! Personal highlights: Kel and Aubrey being cute together, Sunny's face in the top right, and feral Basil. And, of course, Tony, who's lying on the couch next to me but sadly doesn't seem to care that someone drew him.

Thank you very much! I consider it an even bigger compliment that you apparently made your account just to post that comment!

I by no means expect to make any money off of this, but I do very much appreciate fanart! I'm not sure how well it works, but it is possible to attach images directly to itch.io comments. Image attached to illustrate that it's doable, and where the button is.

As you now know, I did see it, and it rocks! I'm not seeing the image in your comment, so let's see if it shows up in mine.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I have no clue what about it could have made your computer crash, so hopefully that was just a coincidence. In any case, there will be more, probably! I had fun making this one, so I think I am going to make a chapter 2 at some point.

Thank you very much! And no, I'm afraid there are no versions of this VN in any other language. I only speak Norwegian and English, and I really don't have the money to hire translators.

Hehe, don't set the bar too high on my account! This is a silly joke game, after all. I was about to say that there are at least 28 other Omori fan games on itch.io alone, after a quick search, but the first hit was a boob physics simulator (?), so, maybe not.

Ironic detachment aside, I'm very glad you liked it!

Aww, thank you! And tbh the textboxes look completely normal to me, but that is presumably because I've stared at them for ages while editing and playtesting
