This looks nice. Just one question: is the co-op online or couch?

(1 edit)

So, I bought the game, and when I try to start it, it tells me to log in to "great justice"... what is that and why do I need to log in there to play a local single player game?

(I am aware that I can connect to a multiplayer server, but I don't intend to do that just now, just me on my laptop)

That'd be fine, I guess.

This is 64 bit, and I'm using X, not wayland or mir. I thought maybe the error message would shed some light on the issue, esp the part about XInitThreads not being called, but if you use a framework that is not completely under your control, that might not help... but if you need anything else, like for me to run a debug build or something, just ask.

Hi,

sorry, the linux version does not work. This is the error message:

[xcb] Unknown request in queue while dequeuing
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called
[xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.
ata/games/Realm Of The Ghost King/rotgk: ../../src/xcb_io.c:165: dequeue_pending_request: Zusicherung »!xcb_xlib_unknown_req_in_deq« nicht erfüllt.
fish: './rotgk' durch Signal SIGABRT (Abbruch) beendet

(the german part sais that an assertion has failed and rotgk has been terminated)

Tested on ubuntu 17.10

Gunnar

Sure I am, thanks for the notification!

This looks neat. Are there any plans for linux support?

This was... interesting :) I can't say I understood what was going on, but I enjoyed the exploration and the strangeness of it. 45 minutes sounds about right, and quite enjoyable 45 minutes, too.

Kyle,

I'm having trouble with this game on both Mac (Mac OS 10.11 on a Macbook Pro from 2011, AMD Radeon 6750M) and Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 on a somewhat older Dell 6400 with NVidia Quadro NVS 160M). Both machines run Eldritch just fine, but with this game the display comes up garbled. It makes no difference whether I start it in windowed or fullscreen mode. The game is rendered behind(!) the visual garbage (it can be seen through the garbage sometimes, depending on the garbage...), it looks like there is a framebuffer overlayed onto the game which is not initialized or something like this.  If I can provide more info, just ask ahead.

Gunnar

I've enjoyed the alpha versions so far, and I'll gladly buy it as soon as it is available through a DRM-free outlet, like here or GOG.com.

Just a quick note to let you know that the mac version can not be started by double clicking the StreetsOfRogueMac.app. This is because StreetsOfRogueMac.app/Contents/MacOS/StreetsOfRogueMac is missing execute permissions. Just add them and it works.

nice :)

like the other games, just itch.io instead of humble?
