I can't remember the last time I enjoyed playing an English vn this much!
Emrys is just wonderful and his route is so touching. There were so many great romantic moments that left me squealing and the good ending really felt like a complete story that left me teary-eyed at its conclusion. I kept hoping that it would never end, but when it did, it was just so fulfilling that I can't even wish for more.
I also liked the bad ending although I would have liked it even more if it were longer since I love angst. I did think that I got tricked a little by the suggested route order in the mini-guide because after playing through the romance ending with Emrys, I feel a strong aversion towards pairing Aarya up with anyone else. Like I progressed some of Darryl's route but I was honestly physically pained whenever Emrys showed up; I actually felt so bad that I had to stop playing 馃槶
Perhaps I'll be able to finish the game at a later time by doing friendship routes or using MC with a different gender and name for Darryl and Iris.
Aarya is an amazing, complex protagonist, and I loved that there are subtle differences in text depending on their personality. I also really appreciate the plot especially in how you built upon and expanded the setting from the first game while introducing the ethical dilemmas and nuance that come with having a protagonist who is the "other." It's a refreshing perspective! I do wish that there was a bit more character building for Aarya (like one flashback sequence with their adoptive parents) so that we can gain a bit more insight into how they came to care for humans, but that might just be me being greedy because I love them so much.
Do you plan on producing any merch for the characters for those who missed kickstarter acrylics like me by any chance?
Anyway, thank you for creating such a beautiful game! You've created a loyal fan out of me~ I hope to see another game in the series (perhaps one with a protagonist who uses deviant magic and/or a game where we can finally romance Neri?!). Now I'm off to play Emry's route again with the newly patched version 馃挄
