Bummer that happened. Managed to find it and fix it quickly. Glad you enjoyed it none-the-less :)

Glad to see you liked it :)

It's been added. Hope you enjoy it :)

Absolutely! It'll be uploaded in 15 minutes or so :)

Thank you for the reply! I'm surprised you haven't complained about the ghost, but I'm sure you've just forgotten about it. =P

I'll be sure to learn from this game and add onto it in my next =)

Thank you for the reply! I'm glad you understand the situation with the ghost, might I add; This is my first time using Pico-8!

Fun Fact: You can actually hold down the arrow keys. It starts off slow, but the player does move! Hopefully that distracts you from your carpal tunnel =P

(1 edit)

As much as I would love to reduce the speed of the ghost, the collision relies on being on the exact same position. Turning it into a float would round it to one less. Sorry =(

1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?

Hello! I'm Harry! I usually make shonky prototypes of games, never finishing them. However, I do sometimes focus on a thing that I do believe is massive. I'm sure I have 4 playable games somewhere on my hard-drive.

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?

I did join last time! I joined a team but unfortunately, the whole team fell apart, and we couldn't finish our game.

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?

Some of my favourites are First Person Shooters, and the totally-unique-not-stolen Battle Royale genre. I also love Sandbox games, like GMod and Arma 3!

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?

I use to dabble with Unity and other popular engines, but I opted out of those because C# was so hard to me in my mind. I currently use Godot 3.0.x and I love it to bits ^~^

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

Game Development... Duh...

All seriousness though, I don't mind playing games! I love playing them as I do making them!

6. What are your goals for this game jam?

I'm not participating, because I have way too many projects on my hands, and I do like the chance to start early.

7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?

You don't have to plan once the jam starts. Plan earlier! Not only does it help you think about your game, but it helps understand what others think about your game, and what functions they need.

See you later, and have a good one!

If this is your first time; Well done! Here is some feedback

I would have liked to be able to buy things easier, and have a simple pattern. Just seems like you did something like;

if (Input.MouseClicksButton = true):
    cost * 2.4543

Please forgive me if that isn't correct, but that's what it seems like. I was also stuck at earning coins for a bit. And once I saw my +1click cost go from 1K to 14K, I just kind of gave up on the game.

TL;DR:

Next time you make an idle clicker, consider making a pattern of some sort when buying items, and a counter, to show how much you have. Apart from that, very well done!
