I've been reading on another post, and we have come to think that the x/780 might have to do with time.At the bottom of the screen after listening to the audio the time is shown in military time. Also, each letter represents a number, so you might have to play the game at a certain time to receive a certain score.

Well, in DPTG once you get to the screen that has all the letters and asks you to listen again or quit, it also shows the time in military form.
