are you playing on a new save file? Or are you using one that is saved just before the new chapter? If you are, I put out a statement on all of my releases that there will be errors if you play the newest chapter with an old save file. This is due to changes in the script from previous chapters, meaning you will need to play through those first. If you have a save file around chapter 4 I would say that is the safest place you can use an old save file.

there is no set schedule as to when I release or work on a chapter as I work on this VN in my spare time. Honestly there is not one thing that is the most time consuming. Sometimes I get stuck on writing and that can take a while, or I might run into a problem with programming something and that too can take time to work out.
I remove the older builds (Except for the public build) to keep the site less cluttered. For itch.io I use a pay per build model, so that if you don't want to support me on Patreon each month, you can get the game directly from here or even skip a few builds if you would like and just get the latest one.
Currently trying to replicate this and not finding anything wrong with being able to save on my end.
I would first delete the entire game and then redownload it again. If the issue still persists, walk me through the entire process that leads up to the error. From opening the game, to every button you click on so that way I can see if I can replicate it on my end.
Before that though, when you say you can't save the game at any point is that anywhere, no matter the chapter you are on? Also what happens with you press the ignore button?
And just to double check, when you opened up the zipped file for the first time, you didn't move any folders around or deleted anything correct?
double check to make sure your build that you are playing is 1.01. You may need to load a save file as well that is earlier in chapter 7 if you are continuing that file from an older build. Let me know if either of those work. Also one of the very last choices in chapter 7 does not continue into chapter 8 and is an end point until I release that path.
I do plan on updating the public builds but they will not be directly after the Patreon builds. For example, 1.01 will likely not be released as public until I’ve made a 1.05 build. Of course time might play into effect here but I’m still unsure when to update it. The public build will still get fixes as new art is added to the chapters that it has but for the most part I want there to be a bit more of a separation between the two builds.
Are you referring to a guide of of the chapters and choices or what has been updated through each build? If it’s the prior then no, I have not personally made a guide. If it’s the later, the current public build 1.00 goes up to Chapter 7 for each character route and 1.01 goes up to Chapter 8 Koshiro
Sadly I don’t write much else other than besides this game. If I did it would make the development times even longer as I’m a one man team who does the planning, coding, and writing. The only thing I don’t do for the game is the character art.
As for prequel and origin stories, stick around long enough and you might just see more about the other characters backgrounds like I did with Koshiro in this latest chapter 😉
Hi, I already know about the intro scene but unfortunately I can't do very much to fix it or any other issues that you come across with the android build. I programmed the game for pc and mac first with android as an afterthought. The other issue is that I also can't test it myself as I don't own an android phone and the only other option I can use is a built in mode for renpy to play the game as a phone build but that doesn't really work well. =(
I’m going to try to aim for a release by the end of this month but I can’t make any promises. Unfortunately aside from the artists, I’m the only person handling the writing and programming and all other aspects that go into making this game. Its really just a one man project so you may have to wait awhile between updates. But because of this I can promise you that I don’t just rush or skimp out on work. I make sure to make each release to the best off my ability and quality as I can. 🙂
Glad to know you are enjoying the game! Right now the Patreon build features an updated UI, pretty significant rewrite of chapter 1, and the last of the main trio, Leandros, sprite being updated. Once that goes public in about 2 weeks it will become the default public build for a while until the Patreon build gets further along with updates.
Kingsguard is gay furry adult non-linear visual novel where your choices will bring about changes to the story, open up new dialogue, and even affect the ending. To fully understand the story and piece together the mysteries the characters will face, you must play each of the three character paths that will take you to a different corner of Torvair. The choices you make will have consequences and effect the story in various ways.
This is a project that I have been working on alone in my spare time. I have help from a few individuals who proofread and test before each release, and of course amazing artists who supply the visuals but the programming, planning, story writing, and literally everything else that goes into making this game is all done by me. Updates are a bit slow, as I can only write as time permits but I pour my heart and soul into each update to make it special.
If you like the current build available for download, consider supporting me on patreon. You get early access to the latest build and all proceeds are poured right back into the game for more visual assets.
