It does because some sites are not reputable and can contain altered games, which do contain trojans, viruses, etc. Getting it from a site like itch.io, means there's less of a chance that some jerk had infected the file and then uploaded it.

If you got it from itch.io, it's likely a false positive. A lot of games are getting flagged for having trojans when they don't have them.

 I heard in the Discord server that they're shooting for sometime this year. There's going to be a major version skip with the next update, so it's taking quite a while to polish everything up for release as they'll be releasing Chapter 1 (v0.2.0)

It's still in development, but there's still a lot to be done according to the development roadmap that Komisari created to show us the progress being made. Based on that, I wouldn't expect an update anytime soon.
