I finally found it. Played this game over a year ago and had a blast. It's a really fun game with great mechanics. You should update it and launch it on steam.

This game somewhat reminded me of Villager Kings (it's on Kongregate).

The Pre-Civilization games were absolutely among my favorite flash games. I've recently bought Bronze Age on Steam just to complete all the achievements (including Survive in Africa and Survive in the Near East). I'm always on the lookout for games that have similar mechanics to satisfy that RTS itch without the real-time aspect of it. 

Played once and got 416. 

I only realized mid-game that you can grow population by more than 1 if you fulfill the (hidden) cost requirements for the additional units. Also, it seems that i could've had a higher score if i invested in buildings, since those were way cheaper than techs towards the end given my strategy, and i'm guessing higher level techs/buildings do not amount to more gain in score.

It's very entertaining, I love games like this.
