I downloaded this and played it with my brother for a while just now. I'm into it :D
We split off and spread around to different areas at first, we would occasionally just be glancing over at the other screen to see what the other person came across. I like how the music was weaving in and out with the exploration, this game is real cute 

The design was well done! I liked the progression of levels and how the mechanics were implemented as I went along. The NES feel is great, in the art and in the fight control.  
Also, nice little touch in the background tiles of the final stage referencing the boss.!

I like the puzzle bits, it was fun!
