It's weird. If you search Kael on Patreon, you can see he's lost over 100 patrons the last few days. If you actually go to the page, though, it's a different, static number that hasn't moved.

Personally, I really liked "his sins will always shadow him like an incubated symbiote". The imagery was pretty lovely. Very Tell-Tale Heart.

If you could somehow divorce FBtW from its creator, I think we'd all love it a bit more.

Fair, but I mean his art and the VN. Both are actually quite good. It's frustrating to see a good artist tarnish not only crowd funding within the community but their own brand, as well. 

Maybe he was physically attacked back home; I don't know. I never saw anything about it. I suspect what really happened was he was "attacked" by critics, because that's a pattern, i.e. 'I don't like hard truths so people are attacking me.'

I don't know if you should delete or not. I tend to lean towards not deleting, since it's already out there anyway and if someone wants the comment, they'll find it. If you do feel a need to apologize, I would just edit the original post. 

He got attacked yesterday in Portugal? Can you tell us more about this?

As for him being away from his love, that level of codependency is incredibly unhealthy and no excuse to continue taking money for four months and not fulfilling his obligations. 

$20 says the majority of the people defending him aren't patrons and have never been patrons. I guess they think if they simp for him hard enough he'll give them a free sub?

He's losing patrons daily. Not many, but pebbles start landslides. It's sad, really. I DO believe Kael should be supported for his work. He doesn't have to con and scam people to be quite lucrative. He does, though, because somehow dealing with all this monthly is easier then just not making promises he can't keep.

If he's not healthy enough conning people out of several thousand dollars a month, I don't think there's any help for him.

The people critical of Kael used to be the people that stood up for Kael.

I'm not sure what you mean about the "not fanboys" bit. I met the main detractors posting here on the FBtW server. As far as I can tell, we all were/are patrond. We all took up for Kael then, going to bat over his carefully curated sequence of events. We've learned better since.

Nothing like calling people with legitimate concerns and frustrations (the only ones I've seen voiced) trolls to take fuel off the fire, eh? Which trolls, specifically, are you referring to?

I've been unmanageablely angry a lot through the years, and I'm certainly no peaceful saint, but never in my life have I thought it was appropriate to tell someone to kill themselves, no matter how angry I am.

He doesn't even have to pause charging people for the Patreon. He can just change his tier rewards to remove the commitment to early access.

The post you made is directly above mine. People are absolutely encouraged to read it in full context and draw their own conclusions. My statements are the conclusions I drew based on your comment. 

What part of, "Kael is taking people's money on false premises," do you not understand? Are we not, as furries, a community that's supposed to watch out for each other? How does an artist inside the community exploiting other members of the community not infuriate you?

I'm honestly thinking the same, but I'll give it that this format isn't always the clearest.

And yet there are people here in the comments section asking about whether subbing grants early access to builds.

But you're right. The last piece wasn't taken directly from your words, it was just an educated guess on my part. 

On the off chance that you're not Kael, you need to understand that this isn't about you. No one's here to be spiteful and drag you or anyone else down (at least not over the VN updating; that's not accounting for the people you've personally pissed off with your waspy comments.) We are here, however, to inform new comers that want to support an artist what they're getting for their support. Which is nothing for the last four months. Well, nothing but merch advertisements. 

So, in short:

- Kael's a bad person

- Appease him anyway because I like his content 

- Despite proof to the contrary, he'll listen if we're nice to him

- I don't actually care enough about the situation to reasonably inform myself

OR

- This is a simple issue and doesn't need a lot of investigation, but I stuck my nose into it and people didn't like it and sounding uninformed is somehow better than being on the perceived wrong side of the argument
