Very cool game! Love the cinematic sections, music and overall concept.

Thanks for playing!

Pretty good for your first game

I have to agree with you. I think my games, as they are for casual gamers, would work better in an online environment. I am working on it. I just happened to have made an online version yesterday.  Thanks for your comment.

Edit: the game can now be played in the browser also here on itch.io

I've never worked with vector graphics. Maybe I should try it some time. I think your game will do well on the jam.

Seems to work better now.

Love the visuals on this one! Did you use vector graphics for this game?

The progression with the upgrade system is quite nice. It's what made mee keep playing. But the early stage of the game feels to much of a grind to be honest. Also the shooting mechanic is a bit weird as there is so little control over it. It's already hard enought trying to dodge all the attacks. I felt no much use in the ability to reverse my aim direction. I would try for this game to have the bullets go in a steady direction, where the direction can be rotated holding the left and right mouse buttons or mouse movement. This instead of having it rotate on its own with only the ability to reverse the rotation. In addition add an upgrade to increase aim speed.

The sounds and music were quite nice as well, though it took me a while to figure out what each sound means.

Overall this game feels really polished.

Ok, cool. I've never heard of this engine called Scratch.

This is a neat looking little game. I liked the music and sound effects a lot. Game world looks nice enough, though the UI could be improved visually. Personally I thought the jumping mechanic was a bit too high. Also on the higher difficulty levels it gets quite tough to see which color should be avoided as you have to check constantly in the top right corner. Did you experiment with how it would look if you made the lower part of the background black instead of white? I would try making the entire background black and put slightly larger stars in place with the color that should be avoided.

The exploding tiles were a nice touch. Good job!

Hey I tried your game. I was barely getting any enemies. It seemed they were moving extremely slow and didn't really enter the screen. Could this be a bug? Maybe improve on it while there still is time. Cheers, Ikon.

I'd like to know as well. I'm thinking of picking up an abandoned project of mine for this jam, but it's not on itch yet...

Hi, is there a certain goal of the game I am missing? I was kind of expecting a level change after walking off the screen to the right (as the arrow is pointing that way). Maybe at least add more levels to it with increasing difficulty. Also most of the black boxes appear more or less on top of each other.

Thanks all for voting! I didn't expect to receive second place for my first game jam! This is really special!!

Thank you for playing and your wonderful feedback! It means a lot.

Thanks for playing and your comments!

Thanks for playing and your feedback! Appreciate it!

Very cool game. This one was my favorite of the jam! Well done!

Cool concept. Nicely done in six hours :)

Hey I'm trying your game for the AardJam, but it seems I can't jump or I get stuck?

Cool game! The music fits the theme very well. Game feels and looks polished overall.

Love the graphics and sound of this game! Cool vibe! However I get stuck pretty quickly. After using the bell a couple of times I get 3 platforms, but I can't seem to jump on the lowest platform. Am I doing something wrong?

Fun little casual game! Is there and end to the game? Love the use of sounds.

Feel free to leave feedback or report problems..

Thanks!!

Hi, looks awesome, but what is the size of this sprite?

Hey, I need some advice. Do you think this background looks good? I personally feel it's somehow a mismatch with the foreground. I tried making several layers of parallaxing backgrounds, but that makes the foreground look really flat.

I have the basics going for a drug dealing sim :). Next step will be expanding the street. So stay tuned...

Thank you, appreciate it! The only problem is I'm still not sure wich direction I want to go with it gameplay wise. But at least it's fun to program a living scene, like with the flies and the bar, etc.

I'm also getting a bit of a cyberpunk / distopian future feel from it. Maybe it will be a game where the player is an illegal virtual reality dealer or something.

I love this minimalistic style of pixel art graphics. I took some of the elements of your asset and expanded on it. Added more detail and my own flavour to it.

At the moment I only have part of a street that the player can walk across. Here's a video snippet of the work in progress:

Hey I have a questions. Sometimes I see creautres leave a trail of blue or red blocks behind them. Also sometimes there appears to be a skull and bones icon above those blocks. What does this mean?

So far looks like an awesome simulator. I once had a group of creatures that ate pretty much the entire map and died out when it got to the other end.
