A small question, do passive skills affect a character even if their not in the Job it's from or do I have to equip them in the extra skill slots?

I've played a different (currently incomplete) game by this developer and liked it quite a lot, it only had 5 chapters finished and took me 70 hours to complete it (with side quests) so I'd like to know how long this game is in it's current state

This is great, I only have the minor complaint that the close up art is much better than the art used to represent the characters in text boxes and both are in slightly different styles, is this a limitation or a preference?

just a funny little question, will I be able to transfer my current save data to the finished game?
