when you go to your desktop, go up to the left hand corner and look for "go" towards the end of the options. make sure youre on just your desktop, i had to left click my background to get it to work. and "option" is a button on the mac keyboard you have to hold it down for library to appear
for the mic issue you have to go into audio midi setup in your applications and set the mic you're using to 44.1 hrtz. the reason it wasnt working was because the frequency is too high, turning it down will fix that
