Hello everyone! I hope you all are off to a good start so far and as you might've seen in the title I wanted to see if using game software like RPG Maker is allowed (I know, I know, I'm that guy lol sorry) but in my defense, I'm really only good at the creative part (art, music, design) and I honestly have the most basic level skill programming (basically, non-existent) So, I thought I would put it out there that I'm planning on using RPGMaker MV (or possibly RPG Paper Maker). However, before I get completely roasted... I have set a caveat for myself: I'm going to be stripping it down to its most fundamental form (a "barebones build", if you will). Which means I will be removing all of the default, graphics, sounds and I won't be using any community created plugins. I figure if I'm gonna use RPGMaker I want to do it the most game-jam friendly way possible and rely on it a little as possible; using only the most fundamental built-in aspects (movement, events, battle-- maybe) and let the custom graphics/music/sound be the focal point and allowing the eventing and my overall design to be the true showcase. I suppose you could call it a purist project and of course I will be following all of the rules/guidelines of the jam and uploading and pushing changes on Github. I did want to double-check if that is allowed (probably not the most popular idea) but just to make sure before I got too deep into the project (also if it is ok, I'll probably end up devlogging it here too, just in case anyone has a morbid curiosity of a RPGM dev lol) Thanks and good luck to everyone!
