SPACEBOTS is a game in which you build and program a swarm of self-replicating droids in space! 

Each droid runs a program that you create in a visual scripting language, with hundreds of different droids working together to automate the industrialisation of space.

Spacebots is a game where you build and program a swarm of self replicating droids in space.   This is a game for people who love programming, engineering, automation, and factory games.

The core of the game is designing different types of droids that perform different operations - for example mining an asteroid, gathering minerals, or fabricating other drones.  You fabricate vast swarms of these droids, mining asteroid belts for resources, terraforming planets, and fighting off attacks from rogue robots and strange alien races.

Droids are programmed with an intuitive drag-and-drop programming language.  As you add more parts to a droid, more commands become available.  And at any time you can flash new firmware to all droids in existence, instantly updating their code.

The game is a prototype and as such is available for free, although donations are welcome if you wish to support my work.  It is obviously using all placeholder art (programmer art!), and has no sound.  I'd love to know what you think of this game!  Please leave a comment in this thread or directly on the game page.

If there is enough interest, I'll continue with releasing more interesting prototypes made during my time at Introversion Software.
