I actually grabbed ren’py considering an attempt recently (I usually code much lower, like standard C/C++)
Then…I remembered when I tried making a short scene in HS using one of the mods and THAT was more trouble for me than likely creating my own mod if I had tried.
I have been trying to make a single HS char look like a picture of a no name model for ages now using every mod/method available (that I know of) and I just can’t get her to look right no matter how hard I try heh.
I was at the point of paying someone to do it just because I wasted SO much of my life trying and STILL failed that I just had to get it done right somehow lmao.
I never did end up doing it, but you see my problem with trying something like this–I have absolutely zero artistic talent or patience.
I actually wrote for years and could likely handle that if I tried, from stories to plays, etc.
I never had an attachment issue, I’m more Game Of thrones on that part 😈.
I’ve seen you around here all the time helping out ever since I found this game (actually got me doing it when I had time heh)…but it was only to help people.

No idea this was your first project, did I mention last time how you HAVEN’T stumbled as much as most devs (particularly the save issue) who are well beyond a single game.
If thats true, you have some real potential for programming or are naturally computer savvy.
I’m impressed, I’ve seen some decent projects from first time devs…but this is by far the last one I would have guessed was one of them–especially with the weekly updates.

I’ve probably mentioned this before but I’m a dev myself of 25+ yrs.
To this day I prefer plain C and generally try to never go above C++, even dabbling in Assembler when sanity permits…I still cringe at the horror of Turbo C++ 3.0 Interrupts that didn’t just crash the program you were working on–they crashed the programming language (TC++) as well lmao. I truly feel your pain.
I also enjoy the humor, my all time favorite creation from back in those days was a 16-Bit Binary/Octal Mouse Pointer that was a Middle Finger 🖕 instead of a hyperlink style pointer I made for a mini OS I was trying to make hahaha.
From what I gather talking to the few devs I do around here that use ren’py…its such a high level language that it sometimes goes retarded on you when you make changes that affect anything in past save games as well because it has a memory of sorts. An issue you have avoided completely, at least since I found this game.
I could never deal with that type of programming any more than most people could deal with the horrible debuggers for low-level coding, such as C/C++ where a missing } or a +1 in a for/next or loop through a array can cause you to dig through mass amounts of code and still leave you guessing where the actual error is lol.
I also have HS/HS2 and Kotaitsu (idk if I spelled that right) and can’t draw (edit, shape, whatever you consider it) to save my life, so I appreciate all the hard work much more than most users.
I have been trying to create one character based on pictures in HS/HS2 since I got them a few years back and still can’t get the features right on her after so long (you take requests? lmao)
So ya, I like the bug ‘reports’ and the fact you make them funny on the user end rather than the same old gripe…but I know first had its no fun when it happens :p
Its probably why I appreciate the lack of ‘forced’ payment so much as well, i generally left all my programs commented thoroughly and as open source back when I was able to do so, that way people could learn from them…rather than just trying to make a buck.

Good stuff my friend, by far one of the better VN I have ever came across, which is pretty sad since I purchased alot from steam and such. Especially since i’m not particular toward the animated style…it takes a unique style in all aspects to pull me into one.
Another dev (with a great VN as well) put his links in a steam update causing me to stumble across the treasure trove on itch (god bless him lol)…where I found better for free if you were broke or donation if you had access to a card to do it.
Ever since, I never bothered on those platforms unless its to support a dev who didn’t get greedy halfway through the process.
Nothing is more of a con than taking away a last chapter or such with no notice until it dropped (::cough:: A Petal with many coins), I just walk away and never look back…the dev I mentioned before actually got in trouble for not charging here as well and had to change the fact–but he gave time for everyone already playing to grab it free first haha. That takes class.
For the record I’ve read enough on the post(s) to know thats not a concern with your game and I wasn’t saying anything in that regard, just stating my experience and spite for that kind of move.
One way or another at some point I will definitely be giving something back for the great work and the consistency of keeping me entertained on nearly a weekly basis, you ca be sure of that…but I respect the fact that you always leave it as a donation only basis and that was the point I wanted to make.
Not only is it a great game in every aspect, you actually care about the people playing and the dev is just as important as the content to me personally.
I will be following your trail (like the beast lol) for as long as you stay in the gamers nexus and you don’t get absorbed by the green eyed beast 😉

Keep it real Arc…you have more potential in this ‘game’ than I think even you realize. The Dev makes the game, not the other way around in more than one way.

I can easily see it happening, extra quotation mark here, missing one there. The fact it got past the engine is almost as scary as a human beast.
These bug reports keep me entertained the entire download nearly every time, but (thankfully, I suppose) I always miss the bugs…this game is going to need a gag-reel after your done lol.
You act like you didn’t have this thought in your head the entire process of the character design 🤐 lol.
On a side note: ‘IF’ you add it, may want to be…how can I say it, polite with the gallery photos in extras in case ppl are overly sensitive to the subject.
I think the point of the hair is not to ruin the illusion by giving the protagonist a face…kind of like a plain old RPG where you are the Hero (the cross-eyed comment was Arc being funny), leaves the MC as “anybody” and “nobody” in the eyes of the player.
Honestly, its the farthest thing from something I would want personally…but I’m pretty sure I mentioned it before just because it seemed like it would happen in that particular situation.
I would actually find it hilarious enough to watch if they swapped mid sex without him knowing what was going on hahaha.
Then the option goes off, but thats just me…I don’t see why people are so against it as optional content except that you would be spending time on that instead of more female scenes.

Like I said, as far as kinks go I think you’ve covered a pretty wide variety already and then some, but I’m pretty plain in that department so to speak.
It does clear up a few things I was wondering about future wise…but I just take it as it “comes” hehe.
I didn’t consider the incest factor with mother/daughter due to some of the other characters stories, but that DOES explain why you never see them together…that idea could be worked the same way I suppose. The fast growth is what brought that to mind.
My memory for backstory isn’t top-notch (and yes I do enjoy all the story this game brings) but I get an idea where that leaves Luna’s story heading to some degree.
All I can say is to the rest is sweeet haha.

I was wondering why you didn’t allow Luna to keep her children, rebuild the race the right way (maybe a mixed bloodline?) and expand on that area…so much Rinko potential hahaha.
You already have the story set for fast aging children, why not have a second generation and some mother/daughter love going on…or for other peoples tastes, mother/son I suppose? Be hard to change that now and would open up the other side of the spectrum more optionally.
We definitely need more Claire and Kunoichi as well as Chloe…by far my favorite character for some reason, but she already has infinite possibilities.
I don’t have many ‘Kinks’ that some character doesn’t already fill the void for (some are even beyond my taste), but not so much as to bother me or avoid them either–but I do have some ideas to toss around.
