Thank you for the feedback! I'm actually happy that you're going to do an LP of this VN. :)

1. The last time I did a test playthrough, it took me about 3 hours on average to finish each chapter. The latest chapter is about 4 hours long, and that's because you have two routes to follow for that.

2. The majority of it is story-based; that is, the first two chapters are both Kinetic Novels. You'll only start receiving options starting with the August Chapter.

Have fun with the story and I'll be looking forward to your LP!

Hello! Jamie here.

Four months after the release of the second chapter, it's finally here! The third chapter of Death Roulette is now available to play.

Unlike the Kinetic Novel style I used with the previous two chapters, this one offers two major routes to follow depending on what decisions you make early on in the game. Made with Ren'Py, "Death Roulette: August Chapter" sees the center MSCI students take a much more active role in discovering the truth behind the game they were unwittingly put into by an unknown perpetrator -- although, they have been recently named. To prove or disprove this, they investigate two separate locations, each holding some keys to the mystery.

What will they uncover? How relevant are they to the crimes at hand? Or will an indirect approach work? In any case, they must stay vigilant, for L.C. wastes no time in choosing a victim... and there are more hidden depths to delve into, but only if the right steps are made.

You might to check this VN out if you are into horror and/or mystery. Because of the new basic adventure game mechanics implemented into the story, this has a longer playtime than the previous ones, about three to four hours to finish.

As always, consider supporting other Ren'Py developers, too. You might also want to check out the previous chapters if you feel too confused or just want some previous information about the story. Just check my page.

Thank you! And peace!

Hello! Jamie here.

The August Chapter is 99% done and will be ready for upload tomorrow. Just need to get feedback from my beta reader/player, tweak some graphics, and add some sections and it will be ready. I thank everyone who supported/read the previous two chapters and would be continuing until the end. I assure there will be more surprises in store for you. How will the story unfold?

Find out in the next chapter!

Hello! Jamie here.

I am pleased to announce that the follow-up to Chapter 2 is already halfway into completion. In fact, the cover image is ready to be released. It will just take a little longer as I plan to release it alongside the September Chapter visual. And just like the transition between the June and July Chapters, there will be new mechanics/design choices to be introduced (Hint: Think of those Adventure-type games, but no image-clicking yet).

Expect new twists and developments in the story following the aftermath of the latest chapter's ending (which I will not spoil here; play the VN to find out). The same questions prevail: What is the motive behind the mysterious crimes? What is the culprit's true identity? What sides of the story do you take as fact?

In due time, L.C.'s game will resume...

Hello! Jamie here.

Yes, those are present. However, they're not there just for the heck of it. Just keep this in mind when you do decide to play it, alright?

Peace!

Hello! Jamie here.

It's finally here! After being on hiatus for 11 months, the second chapter to Death Roulette is now available to play.

A horror-mystery Kinetic Novel made with Ren'Py, this continues the story of the MSCI students who are caught up in a deadly game by an unknown perpetrator. The center of action focuses on MSCI and the characters' dynamics and ordinary school life. However, things take a turn for the worse when the culprit decides to reveal themselves in the most inappropriate time. Their last words?

"Student Council President Sayo Ronoroa..."

What is her involvement? Why is she singled out among the entire MSCI student body? These are merely additions to the ever-confounding mysteries starting with the abduction case the previous month.

If you like horror and/or mystery, then you might want to check this VN out. It might take you around three hours to finish.

Consider supporting other Ren'Py developers, too. And you might also want to check out the first one, "Death Roulette: June Chapter," if you don't want to get confused that much by the story.

Thank you! Peace!

I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks! :D

Rest assured, I'll be continuing the story and will be looking for ways to improve in every possible way.

Hello! Since I've released the first chapter of Death Roulette, I want to thank all of those who downloaded and at least supported my debut VN. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can still do so. :)

For now, I would just like to announce that the second chapter's writing process has just begun after several days of break and marketing for the first one. I will update so long as any major milestones are made.

Quick Notes:

  • Length of July Chapter will be slightly shorter
  • Plot still on expository stage
  • Change in GUI and new effects to be added (Scrum-Style Dev'ing)
  • Play the first for the basic plot set-ups (OBVIOUSLY)

The VN is now released and available to download! Just follow the link provided on the first post. Enjoy!

Anything about the VN, comments, expectations, suggestions, etc.

Hello, everyone! :)

So, I just published my debut Visual Novel several months in the making and will be seeing it's full release this Tuesday. Right now, it's on Early Access and I've only given exclusive copies to select people for Beta Testing. I'm currently working on some sound issues with the VN.

Death Roulette is a ten-chapter VN that will be released episodically until mid-2018, assuming no hiccups. Our focus is on ten Senior Year students from Maria St. Claire Institute who are making the best out of their last year in high school. Problem is, there was a series of gruesome deaths reported the previous Academic Year, dubbed the "Sacred Heart Curse Killings," involving the death of one student per month. And to make things more complicated, one of MSCI's alumna may or may not be involved. The killings are re-enacted in the style of a deadly roulette game, with our ten protagonists' lives at stake, this time with a chance to unmask the hidden villain, which the previous incident failed to witness.

Made in the spirit of other horror VNs such as Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni and Corpse Party, this is a story mixed with elements of true events and fiction. What is real, and what is not? Who and how many will survive until the end?

The first iteration, the June Chapter, comes this Tuesday, October 10th.
