No I think the ending is broken.
We pushed several last minute bug fixes before the jam end that actually fixed some and broke some other features.
Yes you should be able to finish it. There are few stages of the asteroid speed and then ending - the AI tells you where you arrived.
If nothing happened after 5min then probably bug occured.
