Hi folks! Welcome! This is my newly released Merchant/Shop System for the engine/tool "RPG in a Box"(http://www.rpginabox.com). Currently it has very limited functionality, but it does perform the basics of what it needs to do.  If you like what I created, please please please consider making a small (Or large, I am not biased :-P ) donation for this project as it will help me continue to develop this, other plugins, software and games even further.

The Merchant/Shop system utilizes RPG in a Box's Message Box and Display Choices functionality to create a merchant store for your characters to purchase from. Set up is very easy to do. The scripting and shop set up is incredibly minimal, straight forward, quick and easy.  The systems minimal functionality is highly recommended for beginners looking to spice up their games. This system is in continuous development and will continue to add more functionality and features.

Download it completely free of charge here: https://jdiperla.itch.io/merchant-system-for-rpg-in-a-box (Although a small or large donation would not be opposed ;-) )

Kenney you did it again. Thanks so much for what you do and mean to the gaming community. This amazing tool has not only aided me so much, but also been so fun to use. You could have easily charged $10 for this. Just saying. But I've been using this along with RPG in a Box. So awesome to use together.

I Personally feel the software is complete as is. My only requests would be for just a little more depth, maybe up to 12 or 14 depth. But even if that doesn't get implemented... Who cares. This is awesome as is. You can always stretch the model.

Thanks again!

I am hosting a game jam for the RPG game development tool: RPG In A Box. You can find this jam here: https://itch.io/jam/rpg-in-a-box-game-jam-2022

With RPG in a Box, no coding is required to create your game. So in a nutshell.. what is RPGIAB?

"RPG in a Box lets you easily create 3D grid-based, voxel-style RPGs and adventure games! As its name suggests, it will contain every tool necessary for turning your ideas into games, all packaged together "in a box". The software is designed with a beginner-friendly approach as to not require any programming or modelling knowledge while still providing a wide range of customization and openness. Created from the powerful Godot 3.1 Engine and Development software."

You can obtain this powerful and feature filled game engine created using Godot 3.1 over here: https://zeromatrix.itch.io/rpginabox

The jam will begin taking submissions from February 7th until February 28th. Voting will take place March 7th thru the 8th.

Basic requirements will need to be met. The game you create must contain at least 2 scenes(10x10 grid size each), 1 playable character and 5 NPCs. No specific theme is required. Since RPGIAB is very versatile and intuitive, your game is not restricted to just being an RPG. It can also be a point and click adventure or a FPS if you would like.

Why should you join?

I haven't states this in the rules yet, but the winner of the jam will receive a $50 gift card. I will update the jam rules this week with that prize.

Also, you would be supporting and learning all about this highly active and in development, powerful game engine.

Join the jam and post on the community for any questions or even resources and tutorials.

Thanks for watching!

Yes, please that would be amazing!

Neat! I hope we can see some office or commercial style themes or even sci fi at some point. Thanks for the reply!

Is this a one time release or do you plan on upgrading these tilesets from time to time with additional content?

This sort of explains why there are HUGE updates rather quickly. I wish you success with RPG in a Box. It is a great tool and deservers further recognition!

I only think I would need one thing from this list the most and two not from this list.

From the list: Loading and saving your game.

Not from the list: Multiple playing characters like Maniac Mansion. Also, integration with Character Creator 2D on the asset store.

EDIT: Scratch that. Seems that multiple playable characters is possible. Just saw the function in the manual. I was looking under character rather than Engine. But engine makes more sense.

I hope you are feeling better Kenney! I love this tool. I pretty much love all your stuff. But this one is by far my favorite! Do you keep a Trello Page or something similar with a roadmap of what you plan on implementing? I like the fact that it is a simple tool, would love to see a few more features added, but I like the simplicity of it. Do you plan on expanding this to being a powerhouse like Asset Forge or are you looking to keep it simple? Great work on this and great idea! I love it and I will promote this as much as possible.

Neat!

Any chance of full body and animations generator too?
