Absolutely, we played with the progress indicator for exactly the reason you mention -- how far along am I? But when you have branches that are asymmetrical in length then it's not straightforward to compute. With your book metaphor, instead of a linear book think about a choose your own adventure book and how hard that was to gauge how much of the book you'd read.

Not sure exactly what you mean -- there's no progress indicator in Texture (though we played around with the idea in the alpha).

Hi there! When you first create the  word-on-word interaction the pop up window immediately titles it TAKE TIME by default. To change this use the edit name option at the top of the pop up window, and the display will change!

Hi Josh! My plan is for people who want to go the IFComp route to hold off on releasing the game on itch.io and just send it to me or others privately for feedback. It might be possible to upload to itch.io during the week of the jam and make it private or unlisted to facilitate this private sharing -- I'll be able to confirm this Monday.
