I really enjoyed this! It's a simple and highly effective work of interactive story telling. It is moving, even if very short. Some of the writing is a little clumsy at times, but it works.

Thank you so much! That's very encouraging to hear.

Thanks for the feedback. I spent too much time on other sprites and backgrounds that we never used. Maybe I should have worked on things more vertically, only working on sprites that would be ready to use. I'm glad you liked the controls, but I feel like they could still be improved.

Thank you for the feedback! I spent a lot of time doing sprite art and a lot of it was never used.  The character controller also took a lot of work, and I still think it could be a lot better.

Thank you for the feedback. The "press any key" bug is new. I'll try to fix that. You're right that the jump floats too much. This is the first time I've tried to make a metroivania and I'm blown away by who difficult it is to get a good feeling player controller. I want to improve the feel of the jump so it is more responsive and the gravity is stronger.

You might need to click on the game screen to play to game. You might need to wait a minute before key presses will work.

I added you as a friend.

Let me know your discord name and I'll add you to our server.

Awesome! That's super helpful. I'm setting up a discord server. What's your user name and I'll add you.

I've made a discord server, but I don't know how to share it privately with people.  I'm going to run the risk of posting an invite link here https://discord.gg/J88VPuVN

Sure! We've got a lot of programmers now. 3 I think. Do you have any art skills?

Yeah. Let's do it! Sound design would be very helpful. Do you make foley sound or music or both?

Sure! But I think it would help to have an artist. I can do some sprite art, but It's time consuming. Do you know anyone?

I've been programming professionally for over a decade, and I've been using unity as a hobby for about 5 years. I've never released a game. I'd love to make a little metroidvania game. I'm a big fan of the genre, going all the way back to the original NES games. I'm looking for a small team to work with. I'd like to focus on making a small game that can be completed in a few weeks.
