This font is really awesome! I’m using it in my game Tiny Climber.

Hey! Really well executed game. The gameplay feels really solid and the sound and music are great!

At times I was tempted to brute force  my way through some puzzles. Could be that I just wasn't prepared for a challenge right now (or in life in general :D), but could also be that some puzzles are a bit too hard to grasp. E.g. C05 was really difficult for me. I tend to first just try something pretty randomly and when it fails, I try to change something in my approach. But the problem in that level was that I quickly forgot what I had already tried, so it made it difficult for me to adjust my approach. The undo function might help with that, but I only discovered that pretty late in my game session. So maybe undo is a bit too hidden.

Also, even though the graphics are very clear and well crafted, the game doesn't look particularly appealing to me. Even though the meat of the game is in the puzzles, having a bit more atmosphere in the graphics and maybe some little satisfying graphical details might help me get emotionally invested in the game.

Keep at it! It's a really unique and surprisingly deep puzzle concept!

Thank you!

Hey! I gave the web demo a quick go and here are my first impressions:

  • Swinging the sword feels pretty satisfying!
  • The menu structure seems logical and intuitive
  • There could be more feedback when hitting an enemy, especially sound
  • The enemies could be more varied
  • In the Danuja Dojo level, I first thought that the whole level was this small room :D
  • It takes maybe a bit too long for enemies to spawn when starting a level, making the player wonder what they should do

Keep it up!

Hey! I've made a bunch of improvements and additions to the game. Most importantly, there's now death and respawn that totally changes the rhythm of the game.

Post a link to your game with your feedback, and I'll test your game too.

Hey! Unfortunately I don't have time to spare to other game projects. I wish you luck with the jam!

Thank you so much for testing my game! Feel free to drop a link here if you want me to test your game.

Hey! I’m making a game called Tiny Climber and I’m looking for feedback.

Is the game fun? What would make it (more) fun?

Here’s the game page: https://jouko.itch.io/tiny-climber

I’m happy to test your game too!

This is a cool game! The story is well written. One wish: allow saving and continuing later. I played with my son and we had to leave mid-game. We kept the game open in a tab, but when we came back later, the page reloaded and the game started from the beginning.

(1 edit)

I started working on my first personal game project this summer. It's a multiplayer browser game where players collect treasures and try to stay at the top of the scoreboard.

It's very barebones at the moment, but I'll be adding more game play features to it little by little. The near-term focus will probably be on more interesting levels and different types of treasures. In general, I'm trying to make the immediate game play interesting, so that the game would feel nice. If I succeed in that, I'll be adding depth and progression.

I have very little experience in game dev (though I'm quite experienced web dev), so I'm open to any suggestions to make the game at least a little bit interesting. I know there's a lot to improve here obviously, but if I'd focus on just one thing, what would that be?
