This is amazing, would you consider to use this to bring the Wuhu island to a VR world? having this mini game already done making it into a VRChat world could be a very easy task, or maybe I could ask for the assets to do it myself if you don have the time/energy to do it.

And about your problem, making an animation that changes the emmision color between light and dark (Property: Material._Emission Color) sould work, at least it worked for me, once you do it once easy to reproduce.
