This is awesome. I'm going to send you an email with my updated contact info! (I hope you're doing well Matt!)

Update: I just got the official go-ahead! Good luck with the jam y'all!

Hi,

I reached out on Twitter but I figure posting in here as well might be a good call!

My name is Jules and I'm working on a submission for this jam. It's close to the deadline so it might go unanswered, but I have a quick question about what art we can use on our cards.

I'm designing my submission on Canva, which has visual assets that are free for commercial use. My design currently includes images from Canva that I didn't draw myself. Is that still allowed in a submission to this contest? The important content of the card is the writing and the pictures just make it prettier.

If it's not allowed I'm happy to remove the assets from the card. If I don't hear back before the deadline I'll delete them to be safe!

Cheers,

Jules

Hey y'all!

I just learned that when I download the game file from Canva it reformats a few of the image assets in unexpected ways. It's hopefully not going to impact gameplay in Version 2 (so far I only see one or two images to change) but on the next update a few of the images will be better placed!

Update: I added some community copies for the Transformation Game Jam!

Hi!

My entry's working title is Butterfly Keeper. This is subject to change, but here's the pitch:

This solo RPG is about a player who moves to a new town and takes the role of Butterfly Keeper. Their job is to act as a consultant for caterpillars before they become butterflies, where each session the player consults with a few caterpillars and designs wings for them to help in their metamorphoses. The player will be able to use their profit from their business to upgrade their character's stats, change their character's appearance, and upgrade their shop. Though the bulk of each session is about the player's work in their shop, they also get to learn more about the town and journal their personal and professional progress.

The rules of this game jam specify that the game needs to involve transformation of the player character. Though my game uses transformation as a major theme, it's all about how the main character helps other townsfolk transform, where the player's transformations are not as important to the plot. Would this still be an acceptable submission? I'm in early stages so I can alter the design if needed.

Cheers,

Jules
