Yeah definitely won't be ignoring implementing a tutorial from future game jams.
The third resource is needed to build a rocket to end the game.

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I like to think so too (after some work cleaning up the spaghetti code :P)

Thanks for playing :)

I guess you can see where the tutorials sat on my priority list for the jam :P

Definitely needs a better walk-through on the features from the start.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing and awesome job on completing it too!

The difficulty curve definitely starts high, especially by just throwing you into the game. Despite that you still beat it!

Glad you had fun regardless :)

Good skeleton of a game so far! Looks to be inspired by vampire survivors and that genre of games.

Just needs the difficulty to scale up as time goes on, as currently you buy a few upgrades and the game is over.

If you continue to work on it, it'll be a good time killer.

Pretty simple game that was fun for what it is.

Not my type of game, but you should definitely add a death counter as that fits these types of games. Also should add different songs for different areas you make it to, so it's not the same song on the short loop.

Overall not groundbreaking, but definitely simple enough to understand and play. I also loved the cut-scenes/images between levels.

Thanks for playing!

Yep, definitely feel like it's not simple to understand. Thanks for playing!

This is my second game jam and happy to be a part of this one! Felt like I did a lot better than the first game jam I participated in. How did all of you guys go?

I'll echo everyone else and say the recording mechanic was fun and just needs a way to clear the memory so you can start fresh. Only thing was recharging the life support, felt like a chore and was a bit out of place (especially when nothing happens when it gets to 0).

Otherwise pretty gool game!

Oh for sure this would be a technical feat and I do love some rng roguelikes like this sorta itches.

But honestly, If you make something as cool as this in future you'd do very well.

Was a very simple experience and it was a very abrupt ending where nothing happens when you reach the end. The movement was a struggle for me, but it could be just the short level that really doesn't do it justice.

Overall it had a good horror atmosphere, but just needed some more gameplay to make it worth it.

Just to preface this: The game crashed after entering the third red door.

I really like the movement and gunplay, feels very fluid. The levels are pretty bare and the enemies offer no challenge, but this has some really cool points to be expanded on in the future.

Very cool.

Not a bad little game! I too many times and quit at the level where you have to get the key. There are some tough jumps and some collisions with the enemies seem unfair (they seem to big on the enemy). The movement felt good and the levels that I passed were fun overall. Good job!

I enjoyed it for the short experience it was. It has a simple artstyle and even without instructions in the game it was simple to pick up. I'm not sure if I ran into a bug, but my game didn't end when the rocket was repaired. Nonetheless, there is definitely strong potential for this to be expanded. Nice work!

This game was a bit tough to understand and I ran into a couple of issues:

  • For a while I couldn't find the carrying weapon, but found that it only appears when you scroll up which was weird, and when I did use it the blocks wouldn't properly activate the buttons.
  • I have no idea how the ranged weapon works, and from my use only seems to work sometimes, just like the melee attack.
  • The game over screen buttons don't work, so you have to restart the game to play again.

Other than that there seems to be the makings for some fun gameplay, if the kinks can be worked out :)

Had the same issue, seems to only happen when you go into fullscreen...
