I wanted to challenge myself for this game jam, and am making my game completely from scratch with HTML canvas. No game engine, no framework, no library, just a ton of context.fillRect calls. Is anyone else doing this?

I would've used Godot, but I feel like it kind of runs the point of gamedev.js which is why I'm making the game in JavaScript

Wow, Thank you! I like the art and the story is really interesting. I'm really bad at all of the fighting, so the only way for me to beat the levels is just jumping over them lol. I also like the GUI, it fits the theme well. Thanks!
